There was a rose
Falling through a sky
And caught the attention
Of a handsome man's eye

He looked up to the balcony
And what did he see?
11 roses been held
By his beautiful wife-to-be

She leans over the railing
And dawns a wondrous smile
She doesn't know of the jealous woman
Standing behind her all the while

She blows him a kiss
He catches it in his hand
All three of them know
Her heart is owned by this man

He stares back at her
His eyes full of love
In seeing this, the jealous woman
Gave his fiance a mighty shove

She fell into the bushes
Her body hit the ground
She was barely still alive
But, surprisingly, her voice she found

"I can't believe
I must tell you so
But, Love, it is time
For me to go

Live your life
the way you wish
You only get
One chance at this

Don't worry about me
I'll follow you, just like I should
And protect you the only way
I possibly could

I'm sorry, dear
But I'm past my time
I'll see you later
I love you, goodbye"

And then she died
In her true love's arms
And he knew then
That she would no longer be harmed

He was lucky
In that one way
For her to have the strength
For a goodbye to say

A lot of us though
Lose one's we love
And their souls just go
To the place above

Without a chance
To say goodbye
Their souls just leave
And take to the sky

So cherish all the moments
Because you'll never really know
When God will decide
When it's someone's time to go
