Dreaming.
Chap. 1 – the Dream
I stood in front of my mirror brushing my ebony colored hair. My thoughts were lost as I thought of the dream I had had. I would stand by a Sakura tree as if I was waiting. When I would turn I’d see a black figure coming towards me. As it got closer I’d see it was the figure of a man. I’d see myself run at it and jump into its awaiting arms. Afterwards it’d gently pull me back and tenderly kiss me. Then I would wake up in my bed, bewildered at the dream. I was slightly annoyed by it. In my mind the last thing I needed was another boyfriend after Jim. It was only a few days ago I caught him in bed with another girl in his house. I should have figured as much. He had been bugging the past few weeks about finally having sex but the b*****d never could understand a girl not being ready since so many girls want to have sex with him anyway. I was too busy in my dark thoughts about Jim that I didn’t hear the knock on my door until it turned into pounding.
“Yes?” I asked as my dad peeked into my room.
“Kiyoko, it’s time for you to go.” He said.
I looked to my clock and saw that he was right.
“Okay. Thanks.” I said. I put the thoughts of Jim and the dream to the back of my mind as I walked out of my room. I went down the hall and turned right to go into the kitchen. I briefly said ‘hello’ to my mom before I grabbed a piece of toast and took a bite into it. I heard my little sister whine.
“Heeyyy! That was my toast!” she cried.
“Too bad, so sad.” I replied and grabbed by bag before walking out the door. It was only a 5-minute walk from my house to my school, which was only down the street. I finished eating the toast as I walked through to entrance gates. It was long after that I heard two girls talking rapidly to each other about Rinji. I rolled my eyes. It didn’t take long for him to become popular and have a fangirl club. I had known him since Junior High, because we were both taking martial arts. I was already a black belt by the time he started but it was hardly 2 months before he was at the same level as me. Now I know him but we rarely hang out since his fangirls never seem to leave him at peace. Quite frankly I just think that he is really annoying. But nonetheless we are friends, somewhat. I walked into the school building, and speaking of the devil, Rinji was there with a group of fangirls with him. From the big group I could see the President and Vice President sucking up big time.
“Rinji-sama, would you like me to carry your books?” Akiko, the president, asked.
The president was an average height girl with mid-back long hair and has green eyes with glasses. The vice president is about the same height but had blonde hair with green eyes.
“No thank you. It’s alright, I can carry them.” Rinji reassured them. He looked almost helpless not wanting to hurt anyone’s feelings. I walked up to the noisy group and called out.
“I suggest you let him get to class cause school starts in,” I checked my watch, ”Three minutes. And I’m pretty sure you don’t want to ruin Rinji’s attendance?”
The talking stopped and all eyes were focused on me before a girl talked back.
“Should you care? Shouldn’t you be with your precious Jim?” She said. I fumed at her words and surprised myself when I coolly answered her.
“We’re not together anymore.” I said.
A few of the girls looked surprised. I saw that Rinji shuffled his feet a bit.
“What happened?” a girl I couldn’t see asked.
“None of your business.” I replied, this time sounding a little angry. With that I walked past them and entered my homeroom. I didn’t worry about Rinji since we did share the same homeroom and stayed together all day. I sat down and then saw Rinji walk in and took his seat beside mine.
“What? No ‘thank you, Kiyoko’?” I asked playfully.
“Thank you Kiyoko.” He sighed.
I laughed until I abruptly stopped when I had a quick flash of my dream. Rinji noticed my quick silence.
“You ok?”
“Y-yeah...it’s nothing.” I said. I sat there confused for a minute, wondering why I had a flashback of it. Then our teacher walked in and started the class. School had begun and then it dawned on me that next class I had with Jim.
