I wrote this while in the middle of reading Twilight by Stephanie Meyer:
The are those who walk among the living
and then those who lie among the dead
but what about the ones in between
who inflict fear within your head
What is to become of them
when they are neither dead nor living
how will the forces of fate treat them
when they are so beautifully forbidding
to fall in love is a dangerous thing
with them even more so
they want not to hurt you
so they try not to let you too close
but in one instant they give up
on trying to keep you safe
and give into temptation
and put you in harm's way
a part of them, how strong is unsure
thirsts for your blood
but deep inside runs passion pure
their stone cold heart's sickeningly thud
they try not to let emotions rule them
so hard it is to pretend not to care
but the desires that pulse within them
are still undeniably there
creatures of the night they are
though gorgeous during the light hours
their features turn gruesome and violent
they wait to pounce like carniverous flowers
stunning they almost seem to glow
with an unnaturally pale light
they hold your gaze as they walk by
their skin exceptionally snowy white
something darker lurks within
these being so phantasmically bright
brought about only beneath the cover
of the full-moon's twilight.
