A Goddess Tragedy
Thirteen years ago in a small but busy land inside a castle everyone was getting ready for a marvelous gift. The queen moaned and groaned, Her second husband held her hand repeating the phrase gods use for hope and the maid was at the end of the bed. This day they were expecting a child of grace and confidence. After 12 hours of moaning and groaning, a young pair of twins pushed out with effort of great pain. First a boy, then a girl. The father cried in relief of a son and the mother smiled for him but her eyes shone with joy for her daughter. Immediately they knew the names of the children’s Carissa and Cameo. The boy in mortal years ended up being a year older then the girl in god terms. After the maids had cleaned them and dressed them in the finest silk, the children looked more glorious then the sun itself. The mother held them in her arms, rocked them, fed them and babied them like most did for 3 years. Finally they started to walk and talk as toddlers. They grew older living with a lot of dreams and love but not knowing they were special.
As they grew older into children started to find that they were unnatural. The young Carissa learned she could change fate if she really wanted to and Cameo could cause tragedy. Finally when the turned 11 they decided to ask there parents about who they were. The parents were startled at the question of whom they really were. The mother smiled sweetly as she sat in the garden and replied “Why Carissa dear, you ’re Carissa no one else & Cameo is Cameo.” The father grunted in annoyance and mumbled “Go away you are you.” Of course that is what they said. Unfortunately the children were not convinced in anyway. They begged the maids and servants but all looked grim if they knew & others were puzzled. The Children were more than desperate to know. Finally with only one thing to do, they asked the king and queen again. The king and queen sighed and told their children that they were gods. The children were completely astonished.
After all if they were gods why were they not in Helios Heaven? Their parents decided after an year they’d go to the land since the children wanted to learn about their history and to see it. So after a year they went. They arrived with a huge greeting and made friends quickly. They lived there for the years but the daughter grew upset and started to feel uneasy after all most gods knew who they were. Each goddess/god ruled something like harvest, sun or love. Her brother learned and many friends did but she did not. She felt like an outcast. Especially in what you would call modern society. In her school and at home sometimes. She felt odded out but lived her life with hope till this day. This is my tale, my tale about me Carissa. Now I shall tell you.
Chapter 1 “Godliness is next to Cleanliness”
I screamed in frustration. I had to pick the perfect gown but not too perfect. After all today was picture day. I looked through my whole closet and had found 5 outfits a lilac dyed knee length dress with no sleeves, a white skirt with draping navy blue sleeved shirt, a full length yellow dress with butterfly, casual pants and pink floral print strapless & of course the midnight blue to ice blue wave gown. I decided on the butterfly gown. On the way I would make do with the pants and strapless. I pulled on my outfit and grabbed a butterfly clip. I straightened my hair and put the clip in. Then looked in the mirror and smiled. I ran down the stairs and slipped on my sandals. Without a glance I was out the door. I stood on the steps of my white house with its violet shutters. Then my brother waved to me to hurry or I would not catch up. I ran and with a leap pushed of the dock. Then floated through the air happily laughing.
“Carissa! Wait up! ” Yelled a familiar voice. I turned floating backwards to see my best friend Vivienne. Her short, dark purple hair fluttered, luminous blue eyes shone, pale rose lips were in a grin and a charm necklace swishing in the breeze. I smiled at my friend and noticed Helena docking of the port. She smiled brushing a bang away from her face. Her star blond hair was at least past he half way down her back and had glittering green eyes. Today she wore a green silk skirt and mystical white long sleeve. Unlike Vivienne and me. She was popular and the most beautiful in school. I look again at Viv to see what she had chosen for the day. She chose her darkest purple drape coat, netting/cotton shirt and casual black pants. When my friends caught up to me, we hugged an air hug. Cameo rolled his eyes to say he was so cool but really was in envy. Helena blushed pink. “Hey, Carri? You brother looks really cute today.” She said. I looked at Cameo from a distance. He had joined with his friends Jason and Kato. Today my brother wore a leather black coat, jeans and white top that said “Mister Hot” on it. I gave my “sort of” smile. “I guess so. He did okay. I bought him the coat.” I said smiling normally. I held my purse tightly. I had managed to bring my dress without Castor or Pollux scratching it. “What’s in the bag anyways, Carri? Is it a dress that your gonna change into when we hit the baths before pictures?” asked Viv. I blinked twice and laughed. “Right on the spot! Your getting good at guessing Viv!” I laughed. She was awesome at guessing anything. The school came into view. It floated on a large grass area from the front but when actually inside it had volcanoes, ice, and more! I loved the school more then anything else. It was paradise with its Food, Baths, small stores and such. It had normal classes (normal for gods anyway) but a lot of luxuries. I landed on the bright yellow dock with many other students including my friends. I flattened my hair from the wind. Helena landed beside me. Her hair placed down perfectly as she did so. She turned smiling at me with her perfectly painted lips. Then Vivienne landed beside Helena her hair was a mess. Quickly Helena fixed it. They were not really the same but still cared for each other. Helena was pretty, fashionable, protective and girly but loyal, and Vivienne was poetic, creative and sharp-tongued but with a touch of love. We walked up to the school in the small crowd. Cameo walked up behind me. “Hey, have a fun time Petite Cerise” he said calling me but my and his nickname. Petite stood for small since I was the younger twin and Cerise meant cherry because I was Carissa and like a cherry. The doors to the school opened and the girls and boys divided into their separate lounge rooms. We had a couple free hours before our small classes. Many girls plopped down to do their nails or make up but I quickly decided to go to the schedule. No normal classes Fridays! Some days we had ‘Power Exploration’ or ‘Free days’ which were what Fridays were. Then the cloak struck and a sliding secret door opened. It was time for the baths
