This has been somewhat of a weird week. But I'm enjoying it, or at least trying to. This day especially made it seem like I was trying to run across a see-saw, it had its ups and downs.
This past week, now that I'm out of summer school, I've devoted my exercise routine to one thing: swimming. Every day for at least 2 hours. Kelly and I have been going there every other day, and I go by myself any other time, and we bought 3 month passes. I'm so happy about this, because I finally get to enjoy my favorite part of summer, so not only do I get to swi every day, I'm exercising, and swimming is like the best exercise you can do, so it's definetly, Win-Win.
Tuesday Russell came with me, and I didn't really do my laps like I should have done, but we had fun anyway. The buses were pure hell. You know it's sad when it's 107 degrees out, and it's cooler outside than it is inside the bus. A note to anyone living in Las Vegas, or planning to visit: Do NOT unless you can't help it, take the Strip Buses, Route 301 and 302. You will pray for death, because not only is it crowded like you don't know, people getting on and off constantly b***h about the heat, which just expels more and more heat, which makes it worse and worse, and put a bullet through my brain did I wanna get off that thing. It was cool though, because when I got off, they had that HUGE T.V. displays in front of the Fashion Show Mall, playing all the iPod Shuffle commercials, and I love those, they are my new crack, so I stood and danced and sang, and people stared and laughed, and someone even threw a quarter. There's nothing better than getting paid for having fun.
I went to Volcano Tea at Chinatown to meet up with a bunch of friends, and we had Boba drinks. First, I had an Orange Smoothie with Boba, but that was so sweet and cold, that drinking it getting right off the bus gave me a headache and actually hurt my teeth. I settled for Jasmine Milk Tea afterward to settle my nerves (no Boba this time) and that really helped, Jasmine rocks. We ran amok through the mall area, and me and Dj flashed our FMA pocket watches whenever someone asked the time. I'm glad I have a friend who I can rival in the FMA fandom, he only beats me cause he has a Hughes phone strap, I tried countering with my Hawkeye keychain, but to no avail. I did get a little Pokemon capsule prize from one of the vending machines. Well, actually two, one was a Plusle, and one was a Charmander. I needed that Minun so bad to complete my little collection, but I never got him and I gave my Charmander to Alicia, who has Plusle and Minun plushies she got from Wal-Mart (the lucky so-and-so).
After we frolicked, it was off to Ichiza, where we had lots of yummy Japanese food. Some people had ramen and chicken meatballs, but I settled for something simple, Stir Fried Pork with Udon noodles, delicious. The scariest part was though, when they handed me my plate, they had cheese on it that was melting, and it was think and long and looked like worms. It was melting on the noodles, and the way it moved, it was like it was alive, so everyone got a kick out me freaking out over my alien noodles. We played Pokemon Survivor. Anyone who had a Pokemone toy from earlier had to sit their toy on an ice cube in their drink, and it was basically last man standing. I was second to lose, but it was too much fun anyway, we even took a pic of Dj's Hughes toy riding on top of Bulbasaur. I even got to try some of Alicia's squid, which was really yummy and chewy, and all that time I kept thinking of my poor friedn Sonja, who is apparently allergic to the yummy tentacles. (<- Man that sounds wrong)
After dinner Rich flew into the bakery, and bought everyone cookies to share. I got the bad kind without the jelly filling, but Jason traded with me. Rich was heading out after that, and gave me and Dani and her friend rides home, but he had to stop at Michael's (a Craft Store) and Wal-Mart. In Michael's, I was messing with the wooden block letters and spelling out things and taking pictures of them. I guess Rich bought those like big long pool noodles for fun at Anime Vegas the next day because he said at Anime Expo, the Gaia Panel had those last year, and this year they had Nerf guns, so he wanted us to emulate. He gave me the green one, Dani the pink, and her friend (I'm so sorry I don't even know her name) the blue one, and I pointed out how were like the 3 pieces of the Triforce. They didn't get it. I did get to scare Dani with this like Extend-O Dr. Doom hand and use those Thing gloves. "I am The Thing!!"
Anime Vegas was a lot of fun too, I got some Bleach episodes from Rich and Jen gave me the Rozen Maiden series, now I ust need Kannaduki no Miko and I'll be eternally happy until I get Gankutsuou. There was a lot of dueling and fighting involving the pool noodles, and I accidentally held onto Jen's brother's Game Boy SP. And no Russ, I can't believe you asked to borrow it.
Monday was when we started the swimming routine, and I think I'm doing alright. I'm up to 40 laps now, and I can do about 4-5 without resting, so I'm guessing I'm on the right track. When Russell came on Tuesday we played around with the Diving boards, there was like a 3 ft. one and a 12 or 14 ft. one. I thought it would be so easy to go on the high one, especially after I saw Russ do it (and he's afraid of heights), but it was easier said than done of course. I got over it, and hurt my butt a few times, but the highlight of it was when this annoying chubby kid was playing around. He was in front of me, and after Russ dived, he ran up to the edge like he was gonna jump on top of him. Then he started bouncing on the edge, and after I yelled at him not to do that, he called me "faggo" and tried to do a flip. He ended up hitting the water on his back, and everyone heard the sound. It was so damn hilarious and Karma rules all.
Today was pretty hectic in terms of actually getting to the pool, and I didn't stay long today, but I'm glad I went. This heat is getting to be too much. Poor people in Phoenix, they're like the only ones who have it worse than us.
