If a married man wanted to get a vasectomy, would his wife have any right to tell him no?
No.
His body. His choice.
'Nuff said.
No.
His body. His choice.
'Nuff said.
Baby= 50% mother 50% father
Their body, both their choice.
And the father suffers what depression and ruined body? What guarentee's would this father give to the mother to say, "Hey, I'll be here, I'll help you, I'll get up at 4 am in the morning to change and feed the baby, I'll do this, I'll do that, blahblahblah"? Marriage is as worthless as the paper its written on in this society, so don't even try that as a guarentee.
My analogy is pretty right on. If the man wanted no children, decided to get a vasectomy, thus preventing a baby to be half of them both, the woman would have nothing to do or say about it. Why should she? His body. His choice. confused
My mother was going to abort me. My dad said no. She listened to him. So, I grew up with a mother who was either neglectful or abusive, with a horrible family mess and looming divorce for the past 19 years. confused
I wish they had aborted me, to be honest. neutral
It's not so much a matter of being smart as it is the problems that would come with it. confused
Well there ARE people who listen, and hotlines and such, It depends on your personality whether or not you're likely to talk.
I didn't want to talk about my past.
"People will listen, hotlines" bullshit, I've heard it before, it changes nothing now. Not everyone helps, not everyone wants to help. And sometimes, when they try, it ends up worse.
So just shut up.
Now.
No. lol Your past has undoubtally(sp?) influenced your point of view. There maybe be some kids who will be beat and neglected, but there are others that won't. And even if they are abused, they will become adults more than likely and be able to live on there own.
Now that i've trailed off the original subject... it's time to realign my train of thought...
Unlike others who would hop on a mule to defend their point after they say they're leaving a thread, I left after the "shut up" post. This is what I get for "opening up", even to a minimal extent, on the internet. confused
There was no reason for him to get into my personal life. And none for me to have respond with it, however Cambell Souped it was.
"It's his kid too" is a bullshit arguement for keeping an unwanted pregnancy, regardless. 50% of the DNA and no actual bodily strife during 9 months of puking and swelling, hours of labor and post postpartum depression, how much of a right does the father have to tell her no? Her thoughts on the matter should come first, his thoughts or morals should come second. Should she choose to abort, she should never tell him. Ever.
I am, however, pro-choice, pro-adoption...
An unexpected pregnancy is a stupid reason to get married. Period. It's ******** up more relationships and families than I'd like to count up right now.
Marriage means so little in this society today. Why the hell do we say no to gay marriage in this country? Because it's a union between a man and a woman. In a day and time where marriage is raffled off on a reality game show, how much can it mean? What right does anyone of us have to deny two people who have found someone they truely love the same rights as other couples?
How many seperated gay couples do you see?
People should shut up before they spout off at the mouth on how horrible their own lives are in comparison to others, or how easy everyone else has it. Everyone has problems. Don't say "get over it" to the person who grew up being beaten everyday of their lives, who, every night, couldn't tell if they were crying because they're so hungry or because of the paternally inflicted gashes and bruises on their bodies. Sure, don't let it affect your everyday, but don't tell them to forget it.
Suicide's never the answer, no one ever really wants to toss a rope over the rafters take a short drop with a sudden stop. Things don't always get better. It's Plan B to the grand finale. Let them go.
I think we should kill homocidle maniacs. Excuse the Ron White reference, but if you kill someone, we should be able to kill you back.
I'll never understand pro-life, pro-death penalty people. Or pro-abortion, anti-death penalty people. Conservatives and liberal poster boys confuse the ******** out of me.
I need to find someone who agrees with all of that and marry them. neutral

You're better than him, Jess.
