The Notebook
Just as it says,...a journal of all good things and bad
ATOTC Poems
We had an assignment to make poems that we could read to little kids. Mine are a little morbid, but that's because A Tale of Two Cities isn't for children.

Carton

To my dear Lucie,
You make me feel goosey,
With a love transcending time,
and will cross any line,

I know you'll never want me,
A tale that could never be,
Oh it's all gone to the loo,
Since the day I met you,

And that Darnay!
What a souflette!
He represents me,
and the man I could never be

With a kiss and a hug,
You cared for this lug,
And you praised me,
With a love that could never be,

As my head touches metal,
It falls like a petal,
With the hope of a bee,
Of a love that can never be
~o~

*This poem is refering to the
beautifully tragic Sydney Carton
and his undying love for Lucie Manete*

The Marquis

He has the face of a mask,
In his power he'll bask,
On that day,
He struck without bay,

He rode in a sleigh,
Without a howdy or a hey,
He struck in a flash,
And threw the passerby cash,

He speaks to himself,
With the voice of an elf,
"Oh Darn that Darnay,
But I will get my way,

The Doctor's in jail,
Without hope of bail,
And the Madame will know,
That I am her foe."

*This poem is referring to the
Marquis St. Evremonde' and his
past with Doctor Manette, Charles Darnay,
and Madame Defarge.*
