ASK YOURSELF in the most silent hour of your night: must I write? Dig into yourself for a deep answer. And if this answer rings out in assent, if you meet this solemn question with a strong, simple "I must," then build your life in accordance with this necessity..." - Rainer Maria Rilke
A gathering of the art freak masses!
So last night I went to the art thingy.

First we went to Chili's and I had this mondo burger and it was HOT HOT HOT.

Like that song? "HAWT HAWT HAWT."

Yeah..

Anyway. Then it was raining and we got into Portland. It was so....cool? The city was so busy and everything.. They still had Christmas lights around some buildings. And y'know, the three story buildings were so common there, but in Topsham, I think the only three story building we have is the middle school.

LoL.

So it was really amazing. The sky was gray and hazy and a drizzle was falling from the sky. We got to the museum and it was AMAZING. The building was highlighted in lights and made of brick. At the top of it were these really amazing brick arches along the building.

I took a lot of pictures. Some of the works were "Eh" worthy, but others were a breathtaking " eek ..GENIUS!" kind of thing. We got into this auditorium (somehow ending up in the first row) and they made small speeches before calling people up on stage to get their certificate and pin.

Mother wanted me to smile, and I didn't. I said "Thanks" though, so it's okay. biggrin

Y'know, you all would have liked it there. The kids ranged from preppy to misfit to goth, and the hair was AMAZING. Ranging from myself to Keegan (at our school) to black w/ red highlights to guy hair like mine only messier to this girl with awesome dreads. Like, REALLY AWESOME.

And as I went through the program, I noticed that there were only four kids (from each grade) from MTA High with pieces there. Myself, Emily Bowie, Keegan, and some girl from 12th grade.

So that was kind of nice. Only MTA ninth grader there was cool, even if my notan sucked major a**.

Oh. You all remember that guy from the dance who told me that my dad was outside waiting for me? Yeah, well, he was there and told me where my piece was. That doode is nice. Ms. Copperthwaite couldn't make it coz she was at another art thingy.

When we got in the car, and I told dad I met the art teacher there, he says, "He's an art teacher? He looks like he couldn't be out of high school!"

Me: *laughing* "All the art people look like that with the bedhead and sleepy eyes."

>_>

Not a terrible day. It looks like a great one, 'cept I skipped over all the annoying parts. ninja

I wanna say the art guy's name was Mr. Fields. He's so cool, he makes me sad that I'll never take an art class. sad
