Like A Father To Me

I realize how lucky I am, for many reasons. I have many friends, and I feel loved by all. But there is one person who, if he was not there for me, I would not be where I am today. That person is Gai sensei.

From the day I met him, I had already grown close to Gai sensei. He was admirable to me in many ways, and still is. He was a man of his word, he was brave, strong, wise, and most of all kind. He still is all of those things to this day, I would not be surprised if his strength, wisdom, and kindness have all grown.

I cannot think of a time when Gai sensei has not been there for me. Even when my crush Sakura had first rejected me, Gai sensei was there to comfort me. He talked about how his first crush had rejected him too and by the end of the night we both had shared a good laugh. It made me feel so much better to know that I was not alone with such an embarrassing experience. I knew that Gai sensei would always let me know that he was there for me. Even with my operation, he promised that he would die with me should something happen to me. If it was not for him, I probably would not have had that operation.

The only thing about Gai sensei I can find myself questioning is if I too, have helped him as much as he has helped me. I do not know if I have, but I can only hope and continue to strive to be like him and help him too when he needs it.

Gai sensei is more than a teacher to me. He is like a father to me and I would feel honored if I would someday become such a wonderful man as him. I would even be honored if I was half as great as the person he is!

But most of all, there is one thing. I will always love Gai sensei with all of my heart, no matter what. I will be there for him time and time again, and I will give him advice and help when he needs it the most. For he has always done the same for me.
