somewhat good news... he woke up. They were afraid he was in a coma (and had I known this last night, I would've mentioned it), but they were able to wake him around 4:00 this morning. Second, he passed the brain test. When he woke, he was very agitated, fighting the nurses and whatnot. One nurse told him he needs to be still or he's going to hurt himself, and he became very still. They asked him to wiggle his fingers, and he did. They asked him to squeeze their hand, and while he had some trouble with this, he did. They asked him to wiggle his toes, and he wiggled his feet. His mom said something to him, and his eyes got really wide, and he started looking around for the source of her voice, so he recognized her. This is very good. He was put back into sleep, and they're going to have him rest for the next five to seven days. As for visitors... he's in ICU, in serious condition. His parents are the only ones that can see him at the moment. Now he has two more major hurdles to clear, he has and will use a LOT of blood. They're going to have to give him blood on a regular basis, and we'll just have to wait over the next week and see what happens after they take him off the rest. As soon as I hear anything one way or the other, I will let you all know. Pray for his continued recovery.
