Regarding the "events" of last week:
I'm not perfect. I'm worse than most people, probably. I just have issues with the use of a lot of cuss words. It makes me uncomfortable--not because I don't enjoy the company of the people, and I realize that they're "just words," but the strength that these words entail and the society's acceptance that, although they can be used, they're "rebellious" doesn't mean that you HAVE to use it.
In fact, it's a better sign of intelligence to come up with other phrases and words that aren't as overused and-dare I say it?-cliched as cuss words. It's unimaginative to use an excess of them.
Also, I think that even if people choose not to subscribe to a particular religion (or ANY religion), it doesn't give them the right to flame and harass those that choose to follow one. And, in turn, those that subscribe to a religion have just as little right to harass and flame those that don't want anything to do with religion. I, personally, think that we should just not try to conflict with each other by bringing these up in the conversation and making them into fights.
I'm totally willing for anyone to disagree with me, but I hope you'll refrain from going overboard. I know not everyone has my opinions--heck, the world would be boring as heck if we all thought the same way. I just think that, to avoid such conflict as has been going on these past few days, everyone should just cool down.
I apologize if this annoyed or aggravated anyone, because I honestly didn't mean to. I'm honestly not trying to pick on anyone, and I really don't want to be the cause of any more conflict.I just want things to be easier and less...heated in here because I enjoy having ALL of you to talk to (although certain people who know who they are can push it!).
There are some people, though, who I feel have been acting inappropriately. I won't name names...Thankfully my contact with them has thus far been limited to one area of Gaia (a specific thread). I'm really close to letting loose, and I don't want to have to do that. It's just ridiculous to see how self-centered and phobic they are...And the way they take it out on people just trying to ask for a bit of politeness is idiotic.
