As a dragoon my job is to keep order within Lapis. A guard of sorts. I was not meant to do anything more or less. I look after my Wyrm egg until the tenth year (or my 20th birthday) when the Scale Ceremony, or Hatching Parade, begins. I always felt tied down, held back by who and what I am.
During the 9th year, days before the ceremony, enemies from the cursed lands ravaged our city. Thousands died during the ceremony, sometimes even eaten. I was able to escape simply by the fact that I was the first to see them. My egg died during the ceremony due to the fact that the trance was broken severing the connection between us. Sadly even I didn't escape unscaved. A monster by the name of Lapis cut my arm with a toxic knife.I was able to get away, but not without scars in more ways than one. The blade sent a toxcin through my body changing me into something... dead. Yet even with my death I did not slip into the cold embrace. The severed connection with my egg would not allow me death, neither the egg itself. The Wyrm it contained became an undead, same as my condition. Ever since then I have been waiting, watching until the egg would hatch. Years have passed my condition the same. I wear bandages to cover up what it is that curses me. My eye has come to have a power of it's own. I am able to see the true form of a person with my right eye. It shows me how a person would look based on their personality or true feelings. A monster for a wicked being, an angel for the pure of heart.
