I skip school sometimes because my parents make me take a choir class, so i'll just skip that class or the whole day with some of my friends who also don't like the class they have that hour or just don't want to do anything that day. we do it more in the summer because that's when you can do more stuff without everyone asking you "shouldn't you be in school?" like now in the winter because you have to do most stuff inside you either go home and get in trouble or you go somewhere else and have to come up with a reason you're not in school unless you know the person who runs the place and they're nice like this guy who runs a movie theatre here and it's cool because he doesn't care if you skip classes so he'll let you in no matter what.
