In response to D-chan writing her own journal entry, I decided to write my own and say how much Sakura-con is missed.
Thursday, the day it really starts-
Thursday started out where I had to wake up early and head to my Driver's Ed class and then head over to D-chan's house to pick her up. Barely surviving her creepy drive way, I pulled in and parked horribly and told my dad to re-park it when I went in and got Denise. Soon we were leaving and then returning again back to her creepy drive way because she forgot the camera - then we headed back to my house and watched Hana Kimi J-drama for the rest of the day until Near came, then we continued watching it and started obsessing over the characters heart Nakatsu will always pwn Nanba. We watched until we had to go bed, which was near midnight I believe. As far as I know I was the only one to fall asleep. We woke up around 2ish in the morning and packed the car and left. Many many many hours laterrrrrrrrr (4 hours....)
Friday, the official start of the con-
We stood in line for around an hour, having nice conversation with a Sai in line. I didn't really talk, but it was fun. We also saw Hobo, another Ranger, and she ran up and glomped me - it was really nice to see her again. We yelled RED DAWN! to try to get the attention of Katie and the others, but that didn't work so she headed off. I also had my hair done by D-chan and Near as I suck at doing my own hair. Soon my hair was up in something like Deidara's hair, and I put on the headband and kept getting pestered about keeping my bangs over my eye. I like to be able to see. Then the line started moving around 7, and we stood in line for about an hour or so to only be able to go to stand in the line which was for people that had problems. Lovely. In all standing in line sucked. Finally we were able to leave. We headed off to get the expensive coffee or did we go to the opening ceremonies first? I forget. We then went to the Ranger panel and saw Vic - I was never able to meet him, but I saw him plenty of times. That's fine with me, I guess. He was surrounded by enough people. sad Then we went to the Dealer's room and went around, refusing to by things until the last day of the con when it would be cheapest. We then went to the Ranger dinner which really sucked, because all people did was crowd around Vic. It needs to be more organized, seriously... Then we headed for a place to escape and sit down and we were exhausted. We waited a few hours for my aunt to call, and when we did we got directions to her house. I, not being able to read my own handwriting, got us lost until we turned back and went the right way. Amazing we ever got home. We arrived and soon collapsed in bed.
Saturday-
Things happened and it turned out that Near had to go all three days with us as my mom couldn't make it. That was totally fine :3 It was fuuuun! Let's see.... Saturday we were going to go to a Gaia panel, a Story Story Die, and go to a autograph session with artist of Chibi Vampire, Yuna Kagesaki. Well, as it turned out, the Gaia panel was too crowded and we didn't even try to stand in line as there were too many people. Story Story Die really sucked, won't go on about that, so we left that and we went to a Chibi Vampire Q&A. It was really awesome to see the manga artist~ she was short, if I may say. I felt like a fricking tree. But she was awesome nonetheless smile Some Dealer's Room time later, we headed to Vic Mignogna's concert - my gosh it was insanely awesome. He's an awesome singer! They had technical difficulties there, so we resulted to singing the Wheels on the Bus go round and round, etc, but that too was fun. Haha... We then saw the Cosplay contest, which was freaking awesome but it began to snow, so one taxi ride later and an unfinished cosplay contest for us, we arrived home and went to bed.
Sunday-
There was a fear that we weren't able to go this day, but thankfully the Lord answered my prayers and made the snow go away. <3 We headed out, dreading the last day of the con. This was the day that we were able to meet Yuna Kagesaki after her last autograph sessions were closed. I painted a picture for her, but I really didn't want to give it to her redface D-chan did instead, but I was pointed out as the artist and she thanked me for it. It was amazing! <3 D-chan was happier than ever. Random pictures were taken of us that day/all days, D-chan dressed as Hinata and Near as Kaira and me as Deidara. One picture turned out as we taking our poses, then two random ninjas ran and pointed kunais at us. I'm sure we looked stupid, but we kept posing. I didn't really do anything else except make fists against the ninjas. After the picture was taken they ran off. XD After our last stop to the Dealer's room, we headed off to sit down. We sat down on comfy chairs and I watched random cosplayers walk out of the convention and I also watched Vic Mignogna walk out. The last time I saw him at the con~ sad Then my mother called and we were headed out of the con, Near and D-chan whining that they didn't want to go. I didn't really whine along as I wanted to make sure my mother got there safely. Too many car problems have happened and I'm almost always nervous when my mother or aunt goes out and picks us up. But it turned out alright, and as we got in the car we waved goodbye to the con. It was a sad parting, I really didn't want to go sad
Back at my Aunties house, we were ready to leave, and the three of us grouped hugged, and Near left to go home. Mandy, my sister, kept giving us very weird looks. Oh well! We're not crazy; we're fangirls and close friends. I hadn't known Near very well before this con, and I'm glad to have gone with her. Then D-chan and I clambered into the car and rode off into the night~
I arrived home, sorted my possessions, and went to bed as I had school the next day.
Sakura-con 2009, whether by car or by train, I will come! I will now go and try to find youtube videos of Sakura-con 2008 and mourn that it's over...
