To preface, this is not meant to slander anyone a part of Gaia Online.


I've been becoming more and more disappointed in Gaia Online for a couple of months now, and fair to say going on half a year if not more.

Most recently is the lack of holiday events. Yes, I know that Gaia is international and not everyone celebrates the holidays previously celebrated by Gaia Online. I was incredibly saddened to see that there was NO St. Patrick's or Easter event, and to add insult to injury they put up items in the cash shop to placate this lack of festivities. Easter is my faaaaavooorite holiday and I was completely on edge waiting to see what event will take place and was -severely- disappointed in an exploding egg which allowed them to combine two "holidays" in one swift move. Two birds with one stone.. The St. Pats and Easter cash shop items are in their own right cute, but instead of an event they are now charging us for festive holiday gear. Slowly becoming unfair.

That brings me to my next gripe, the cash shop. I think it's -AMAZING- that they introduced evolving items, and most of the items in the cash shop are incredible and top notch as far as items go, BUT, it makes me feel like Gaia is becoming more interesting in getting the Gaians to empty their wallets than to keep the friendly atmosphere it used to have in prior years. $9 for an evolving item, seriously? Yes, yes, I have forked over the money for these items myself but it's really silly that I did. Most of the players here are teenagers who really don't have a way, or really shouldn't be spending money on these items. That all being said, I doubt this will change much and I can only guess that these trends will continue and Gaia will come up with more ways to milk money out of us Gaians, because they know we will pay. And we will.

As much as I gripe, I know that I will spend the money on the items I like if I have it to spare. *sigh* I just wish they didn't seem so focused on making money, and even if it meant never having evolving items, I kinda wish the cash shop was never developed. mad


I love Gaia though, and this post is just a vent for my frustrations.
