After discussing it with some of our friends up in Oshkosh, we decided to finally get moving on purchasing this house! blaugh blaugh I'm so excited!
These friends of ours live in a place that they're renting right now and just recently, they've found that their rent has gone up. They want to move.
Robert's dad got really pissy yesterday and threatened (yet again) to kick him out. Well, Robert was ticked off, and when Lonny (friend's name) came onto Yahoo Messenger, they discussed it and when Peg (other friend's name) came on, they came to the conclusion that we could all live together! Peg has two kids, one of which is almost old enough to move out, so they'll have to live in the basement, but we're gonna redo some of it anyway. When I got home, Robert asked me what I thought, and I agreed; this could actually work.
The way we have it planned is that Peg and Lonny will pay $600 a month (mortgage will be about $800, but we're including electricity and water into their rent) and we'll split food. We're gonna share furniture and get new stuff too.
I can't blame Robert for getting pissed at his dad. His dad does almost nothing but complain about Robert even though he's trying his hardest to work and pay for stuff. The worst of it is his brother. Steven has moved out and moved back in numerous times. He also gets away with putting stuff on a credit card that his dad has under both their names. His dad complains that Robert never cleans the house. Robert and Steven were supposed to clean the house on Tuesday evening, but when Robert got slammed with homework and didn't do it, his dad said that his homework shouldn't have come first.
We are very sick of his father treating him like dirt! If it were up to me, I would tell Robert to just not associate with his father after we move out, but that's his decision. It often seems like his father is doing this to him just because he was a "mistake". Robert never would have come along if it hadn't been for the death of his brother. His mom had a miscarriage and 3 months later, Robert was conceived. It seems to me that he hadn't been wanted like his brother had.
One of these days, his father is going to push his own son too far away. I hope that doesn't happen, but with how crazy his father has been lately, I don't see a happy ending in sight unless his father changes his ways.
