Afraid.
I wear a mask to hide how I feel.
While they let their emotions rip off like a peel.
I want to act the same, I really do.
But I'm afraid if I do that they'll rip me in two.
They greet me with waves and hugs and smiles.
So I tell them I'm sorry and that I'll stay a while.
And maybe, maybe just for today,
I'll let my stony mask just fall, fall away.
And maybe, maybe just for today,
I'll let my stony mask just fall, fall away.
..Just some dumb/quick poem I made for Poem In My Pocket Day at school.
