So Matsu-sensei is out of town for the week, which meant no piano lessons for today. Yay. That means I have a week to practice my Chopin stuff. And make a copy of the Brahms piece she handed me. Hehe.
Sensei keeps talking about me playing some contemporary song for an upcoming recital. That makes me nervous, because the only contemporary piece she gave me was the dreadfully repetitive Ice Castles song, which I never really cared for from the start. I suggested Waltz in E minor (Chopin), but she said I'm not ready. Bleh, I'll just have to deal.
Two weeks before the band concert in front of the intermediate school. I lectured and pushed my way into getting the band to practice SERIOUSLY, and we're 3/4 of the way ready. We just need to brush up on Prelude and Primal Danse. We're not ready for West Side Story yet. "Cool" is having percussion issues (since we only have ONE percussionist, disincluding Ronald and myself), "Maria" is having clarinet projection problems, and "America" just plain sucks.
Meh... I'll rarely update this journal.
