a fallen angel no longer taking flight.
The pain and agony, from my bleeding pen, once felt,
has ebbed away, only to melt
into my tears that dust your invisible form.
Your spirit, graced with thy eternal love, reaches the sky
whilst your hallowed corpse, below a bedrock of words, shall lie.
A thousand lives, in an instant, you touched,
but for mine, alone, I was blessed in such
a way and manner that your name forever seared my flesh.
The howling wolf, breath alighting the night, has left this ancient soil,
and through the untold pages he labored and toiled
so that my guardian, from deep within the catacomb of my imagination, no longer sees
for his death, I admit, was all because of me.
It was my doing, after all, that annihilated my precious comrade.
As I penned your blasted fate, my friend, I cried.
Depressed as I am, I will always try
to never forget your life, your stories, and I shall pray
that someday I can safely say,
“Thank you, truly, and I'm glad you were mine.”
I am the worst kind of murderer.
I am a writer.

A poem done in both honor and memory to a character that I, alone, created. An angel to many of my characters in my novel, my book and series wouldn't have been anything without him.
Murdered unfairly as a result of a madman's personal vendetta, you perished as an angelic martyr for the cause. You shouldn't have had a fate as horrible as that but, as destiny abides by the cruel wiles of coincidence, you had to have been sacrificed in sake of the plot. A divine example of a fatherly figure, you were easily loved and, personally, one of my absolute favorites. You weren't just a figment to me: you were real.
Farewell, my cherished character... I'll forever miss you.
