A little girl and I, one that I had never met, were walking down the sidewalk, talking of different things. Interests, games, talk of Ocarina of time cropped up and I had to tell her it was for the N64, not the SNES. Apparently she thought it was really that old. As we walked on, I realized that I was babysitting this girl and she was a friend of mine's sister.
I believe the friend was a counterpart to Lindsay, as per later on. She and I walked, passing by a few places and people, but the longer the walk became, the more adamant and pushy the little girl got, to the point of becoming a bratty tyrant.
I didn't stand for that, and each time she got harsh, I got harsher, eventually to the point of putting her over my shoulder and carrying her all the way back to her house instead of finishing the walk.
There I met up with my Lindsay-friend, and told her what her younger sister had been doing. She laughed a bit and then proceeded to tell her mother, who punished her with her father's help, but not letting her watch any Disney movies--apparently this was a very horrible punishment as the little sister through the worst conniption fit I had ever seen.
I went inside after that, but their house had morphed into my own, and I went over to the dining room table. There were sketchbooks thrown about everywhere, and in the center there was a large one with a crude, charcoal drawing of Teji in a cage during winter. The details of this image are fuzzy, but I recall a slight glimpse to earlier, before the girl and I were walking, that I was telling her about a character of mine--Teji, and I believe she drew that in anger. Whatever the case, I started closing the sketchbooks until one of the guys at the table began flipping through one. He had been doing his homework, needing calculated degrees (lolwut) for something (math?), and I told him he wouldn't find them in there, but he looked anyway.
It was here things got fuzzy, as well. I went upstairs to chill in my room and tried turning on one of my lamps. It lit and then fizzled. Figuring it was the bulb, I went over to it, but then there was this light hissing noise. I had no idea what it was at first, but then I started to see smoke and fumbled with the cover. The light bulb was blackened on a lot of sides, and like very small samples of acid had been spilled onto it from whenever the lamp touched the sides of the covering. I removed it, and went down stairs to show my mom, but everything else was dark as well. I called Timber after that, and he came, making me feel safer and better knowing where he was.
Everyone was present that had been before, but there was a new addition for a reason I can only describe as 'watching Stroker and Hoop too much', Whoopi Goldberg. She wasn't there for long, just long enough for Timber to get acquainted for whatever reason.
It was after this that my point of view changed. Drastically. I was no longer myself, but a man in his early twenties. The dream had suddenly gone from bright and crisp in its color arrangements, like real life, to very dank, dusty, and mostly black and white. People were toned down in their colors, but more easily identifiable anyway because they still retained some bits of their brightness--at least in their eyes. He had brownish hair, messy, medium length, and blueish-green eyes. His clothes were quite dark, rather reminiscent of ones The Crow would wear (lots of black, a trench, etc). In his hand he carried a weapon that I don't rightly recall what it was, but I'm going to assume it was a steel pipe because that thought makes me happy.
This man didn't have a name, to my knowledge, but he found me in an alleyway, and he helped me up. Apparently I had freaked out about something or another and had ran or been transported from my house, the details aren't very clear anymore. I become, from then on, his sidekick of sorts. I didn't really have a weapon, and so he protected me and lead me through the dark city. Even the sky was grey, like in a perpetual, rainless storm. I could tell, even as him, that myself was getting very unsettled by something.
I wasn't sure how much time passed, but we started getting kind of attached to each other in a kind of symbiotic relationship; he would protect me, and I would tell him where to go next. This seemed to be working perfectly, but still, I was getting very unsettled. Things seemed to be changing a bit, getting even darker then they were already, and in a moment of panic, I attempted to open a door that was locked on one of the buildings. A loud shrieking noise filled the air as a spinning blade came down from the very top of the building. The man had been a bit too far from me to pull me away, and as he got closer, I ducked down as far as I could, crying out like it was the end.
The blade stopped, and slowly it started to rise back up to its original area.
Relief swallowed us, and he momentarily collapsed to offer a hug before moving me away from the door and we continued on to find a door that would open without a trap. This venture took us quite a while, and in the midst of it all we managed to get separated. He continued to search for me, busting into houses he thought were unoccupied and had no traps, thinking I wouldn't try one with a trap again, or at least hoping so.
This lead him to a fairly large apartment building. Everything was darker then earlier, now, and in a very unsettling way. This was not a good place, or a good situation, you could tell that just from looking. By this time he had lost whatever weapon he had, but upon entering he found some sort of long handled, old looking ax of some kind. I'm sure that's not what the actual weapon was, but that was what it looked similar to.
He walked around cautiously, hearing or sensing some presences here and there, and there was a strong sense of deja vu, like he had been here with me once but couldn't remember the details at all. There was a young woman in the room he first entered; it appeared to be a back entrance or exit of some sort, but also as though it were a corner shop. It had large windows with no blinds or covers, and a door with glass insets, as well.
Outside, everything looked brighter and more normal; there were people, even. The man spotted a friend of mine and began banging on the glass to get his attention, hoping he knew of my whereabouts. My friend made no move to answer, he just moved closer and stared inside. Becoming frustrated, the man opened the door and walked out, but as soon as he opened the door all of the color had drained. It wasn't really there.
The group of people outside, even my one friend, were all just translucent and he moved over to my friend, waving his hand through his arm before storming back inside. The girl said something to him, "It starts with her, and changes with her. If you meet up with her once, things go to hell. If you meet up with her twice..." she left this open ended, sort of shooing him out the door. In all the time he had spent in that one room, it seemed as though outside had gone to s**t quite a bit. Lots of furniture was broken, there were traces of blood, loud noises and everything. Also, there was a young Asian man huddled up in a corner with a similar weapon to his.
The man moved past the Asian, holding his weapon out, but turned, and told him several times until he passed fully, "I'm not going to kill you." This seemed to relieve him, as the Asian neither moved nor attacked. There was one door that caught the man's attention, though it was normal, like all of the other doors in the building then. He opened it very slightly, and then slammed it closed again.
There was a roar behind it and lots of banging. The man ran and closed himself into another room, locking the door and then began to open the nearest window, leaping out from it.
Don't you just hate cliffhangers?
