I couldn't believe it....Master...evil? No...that couldn't be right. Master wasn't always the kindest man in the world but he head his reasons.....he took care of me and give me a place to rest my head; to me that was all that mattered. "M-Master....what is going on?! Who is this woman? Please tell me what happened.....I don't....." The red haired woman smirked,"I see amazing potential in you boy. You do not belong here, you're too smart and much to powerful for this world. Why don't you come with me and your Master?" she asked, holding out her gloved hand. "Yes..." said Master,"You yourself acknowledged it. Merlon, I shall explain all of the truth if you come with us? What do you say?" I thought for a moment and stared into their eyes. I couldn't have helped it. I was terrified. Master...this wasn't my Master....and this woman scared me. I had no idea what was going on but my heart ached. My mind flashed to my sister and all of the people I had met in this world. "No!" I said,"I'll never join you! And I'll never abandon hope for this world. I may not belong but...I don't wish for demise on it. Both of you can rot in the deepest and hottest pits of hell for trying to manipulate me!" I barked. "Very well....Fira, please do not misjudge this boy....once he is alerted of the situation; he'll surely acknowledge our mission. Let us prepare eh?" Master asked the woman. She smirked with her bright red lipstick,"Well if you want him to live so badly....I'll spare him for a little longer. Hold on then." She dove back into the boiling lava and emerged a huge red dragon. I saw Master leap onto her back and as the two flew off I was left alone in the boiling volcano. "Mas.....ter......" It was the only mangled word I could spit out as tears were beginning to fall. Then...the volcano erupted.


I awoke in a bed with Ordell, Merlow,and the strange old man from earlier staring at me. "Hello Merlon." said my sister. "Hey..." I whispered. It was quiet for a moment and then Ordell spoke. "Do you know what happened?" he asked. I shook my head,"Master...I saw Master fly off with this huge she-dragon and then....ugh...." "Then I assume you saw Fira the Red Dragon?" asked the man. I was confused,"Um...if you meant that red haured woman who poofed into one then yea.....she just came out of nowhere once I placed my staff into that statue's hand." "You broke Mooncica's seal. Freeing that monster from long ago...." answered the man. "Mooncica? What's that? Master mentioned sumthin about it earlier but-" "Mooncica is a legend." Ordell stated. "No it isn't!" everyone barked. "Mooncica was a beautiful young woman from about 200 some years ago. Her story however is timeless through each generation. Many misfortunes followed this girl wherever she went. Storm, disease, drought.....so in turn she became a gyspy. but fate led her to learn magic and a very powerful kind at that." he said. "Yea...she spent a lot of her life going around and performing miracle's but she'd never stay in one place. My Father told me she was smart aswell he did meet her afterall~" Yael added. This woman sounded like your run of the mill Jesus but I kept my mouth closed. "One day however an evil red colored beast flew across the sky and transformed the world into a wasteland. The military wouldn't come because of the horrid monsters that were about. Each time one would go to hel, he'd get eaten." the man said as he pointed out pictures in a book. "Humans and demons alike were terribly frightened, even to just breath. But out from a moonlit night a figure appeared. She even had the courage to call out to the beast in the sky. She battled long and hard fr a whole week and just as the sun had begun to fall on the last day Mooncica rose her staff into the air and chanted a most powerful spell to seal away the beast. She transformed the very lands themselves into a volcano. They say that her tears had made the land into an island to forever drift with the sea, never to be found or touched by man again. But by doing this she sealed both the beast and herself into the magma pits." Yael finished. So that statue...it really was a real person...."What have I done?" I asked myself, putting my face to my hands. "Do not be afraid child, you did nothing wrong. The world has carried this tale for years but only the desert people and the islanders know the true tale. Mooncica banished her powerful staff to the ends of the world. Mooncica's staff is yours. You were bound to return to this place but....if only I had spoken to you before that man came. Forgive me...I was just so surprised.....to believe a child could hold her in his hands...." the man said lightly grazing the staff. "It came to me....but Master said it was your run of the mill thing....Are you telling me that thing crossed an entire world just to be in my hands?" I asked. Ordell nodded. "It seems you really do belong here." I looked at it, for so many years I'd always thought it was just something to channel my powers in....so I could gain control. But looks like it was more in control of me. "That's no ordinar staff Merlon.....it has Mooncica's very soul within it." Yael said. I gasped. "Why didn't you stell me?" I asked. "Because....I myself couldn't believe it but....after the countless times you've displayed your courage.....I understood why she chose you. Merlon, you need to listen well because this moment has now changed our entire view on this journey. From now on you are bound to Mooncica and to this world. Until that woman is stopped, this world will remain in a constant hell and soon...your world will also feel the effects. But as part of the legend...you have a choice in this. Help us...or not." he said holding out the staff to give me. I reached out for it but tore my hand away. "I'm sorry...I-I-I just can't!" So just like that I left the small hut and ran deep into the forest. "I don't know what to do! I don't even know who I am or anyone else is! How can I make a big choice like that? I just wanted to help people but when the world is counting on me....I....I....." Tears escaped my eyes. It seemed like I wept for a whole hour before my head started to hurt and I layed down in the grass. I imagined that I was just a normal guy, no powers, justat home with his family and hanging out with his friends. But when we were walking together they walked ahead of me and never looked back even as I called out to them. "Please wait!" I called. Still they ignored me but Merlow turned her head. She smiled at me and the next thing I knew I was back at the field and she was looking down at me. "You were shaking...I had to get you up....it's night." she said pointing to the round moon hanging in the sky. I couldn't say a thing to her. She sighed and layed down beside me. Together we watched the stars dance across the sky. "No one ever asks to be what they are. If stars had a choice....do you think they'd want to be stars? If insects had a choice...do you think they'd still want to be hated and squashed every day?" she asked. "No...but my situation is different." I said coldly. 'No it isn't. You're still saving a life. Whether it's either one or a million, a life is still a life.If anything you are just like.....a mother." I looked at her oddly. "Picture a woman who has a poor life and no husband to support but she has four babies. So she journeys to another country to better her family. Each country is so different so basically she's traveling a whole world to save the lives of her family and herself. She had a choice, just like you. You traveled across a whole world and now you have to choose to save your family. Somewhere around the infinite amount of worlds, a mother is making the same decision, somewhere out there a hero is making the exact same decision. There will always be things we can't contol but we choose to face those obstacles everday. So my brother....what do you choose?" My sister....heh....a few weeks ago I thought she was an untrustworthy demon. But it appears that I was wrong. My sister was lost, just as I was....just as I am. But she faced my hatred like an obstacle....."Merlow.....I'm so sorry...having to el me...talk about weak. I hated you and...I'm the worst older brother..." I said wiping my tears. "No...." she said looking into my eyes,"You're just like any other sibling. You weren't able to comprhend with such a quick and drastic change. But it's because of you and your companions that I'm like this. You helped me....now I'm going to help you." she said taking my hand. We both took one last look at the stars and walked back to the hut. "Alright.....I-I-I'm ready to do this." I said, grabing Mooncica. "By taking that staff you aknowledge that you must defeat Fira. Correct?" the old man asked. "Yes....but if time permits....I must help people in need as well." "Yes, of course. Will you stay awhile to practice some old forgotten magic?" he asked. "Yes.....I know it's what Mooncica wants.....no...it's what I want."



Yay I managed to sneak in a chap!~ Well I kno it may seem kinda boring but I really wanted to show Merlon's growth. But dun worry! He's still cheerful and happy-go-lucy as always. And that's how he'l stay until time stops! finally got into the secret of his staff. Hoped you all liked and sorry for the spellin errors..too lazy to spell check on Lap...so annoying.
