Alrighty... For those of you that love brawling but tend to get your a** handed to you, you're not using the dodge mechanic correctly... Firstly, Air Dodge... It has a bit of lag, so you're going to want to execute it a bit earlier than you'd think to... Next, unlike in Melee, The Air Dodge can be used multiple times, so make sure to do so... The Ground Dodge is a staple for fighting more experienced Brawlers... There's not a lot to learn about this (other than the button combo is Shield + Dash or Down) but a rule of thumb, when fighting the speed characters, use Sidesteps (Shield + Down) more frequently... That'll put you behind them, ready to attack... The last thing I have for you is if you're ever grabbing onto a ledge and your opponent in edge-guarding (Using a move that won't let you back up) instead of jumping up or attacking, hit your shield button to dodge roll back onto the stage... This will more than likely put you behind a surprised and vulnerable opponent... That's about it on dodging... Leave comments if this was at all useful or if you have something to add...
