The Diary of Emira Brightleaf
Writing space is always fun to scribble in.
After convincing Hisoka I wasn't going to faint, we ate lunch together. I have to admit, it's been nice, these past few days. Though I don't miss going to school, I've been really happy staying at Hisoka's house.

I'm in a pretty good mood right now, so I think a walk would do me good. Besides, I need to get out of this house.

"Hisoka, Yukito," I call, pokeing my head into Hisoka's room. They're working on a group paper together on Hisoka's computer. Hisoka looks away from the computer and smiles at me. Yukito glances my way. "I'm going on a walk, ok, guys?" Yukito's smiling like he's gonna burst out laughing. I could too; the look on Hisoka's face is hilarious. Somewhere between overprotective shock and attemped self control.

"Where are you going?" Hisoka asks carefully, like parents scared of their kids going to unsupervised parties.

"Just around the neighborhood. Not far."

"Do you want me to go with you?" At my glare, I think he got my point that I didn't need to be babysat. "All right, all right. But if you're not back in an hour max, I'm coming looking for ya."

At that I had to laugh. "I'll be back in fifteen minutes. I just need some air." I turned and headed towards the door. I distinctly heard him say "I'm serious!" behind me. Goofball.

As I walk down the street, somehow, I can sence things better than I normally would. That's strange. I can hear the kids playing tag six streets over, smell the flowers from one of the gardens behind a house down the street and feel the slight breeze playing in my hair and the sun on my face. I don't think I've ever been this aware of my surroundings. I wind my way though the houses, down streets for about ten minutes. I suppose I should turn back, before I get lost. But a little brake wouldn't hurt. I lean my back against one of the houses, relaxing.

The tak-tak sound of feet running in my direction makes my eyes fly open in caution. Before I know it, a hand grabs me by the neck and lifts me into the air, slamming my back into the wall.
