This summer I have attended a summer school to get an English university course, so I am able to do any courses at the university level. It is a challenge since I have been in the applied and college level in my three years of high school. But today along with some homework and research, I got an 80%. I say that i did a good job. 4laugh
As well we read an article in class about Britain and teen violence in school and outside of it. We had many discussions of it, especially the violence shown on the news and in our schools. From catfights, to lockdowns due to someone carrying a weapon in the school. In my view, I always felt safe, even though from grade nine we had to leave several times due to pepper-spray, a lockdown for someone carrying a weapon (which was a paintballgun), and a stabbing near the school. But at the same time, there are times that I do not feel safe, mostly outside of school.
Apparantly I live in a suburbs of Mississauga, Canada which not a lot of crime comes in the newspaper. And yet I get the fear of being the next statistic of a local police website or even in the news paper. One of my worst fears is walking on the sidewalk, and a car comes by and shoots at me. I always get it in my nerves while walking home to school... sad
But I ever wonder if anybody out there feel they are safe. Do you ever felt that somehow its not safe to even go outside of the veranda because you get the fear of something bad will happen to you whether your involved or not?
