That right, Rune Factory 2: A Fantasy Harvest Moon is coming to the U.S. this Fall. This release has added the "A Fantasy Harvest Moon" subtitle to the name of RF2, despite making the title simply Rune Factory 2 in Japan in order to grow Rune Factory as it's own series, for reasons unknown. This second installment of Rune Factory has been called a major improvement of the series according to fans, as the the length as had a significant increase, mainly because of the edition of a 2nd Generation. A first in the long running Harvest Moon franchise, this 2nd Generation feature let's you play as the protagonist's son or daughter, depending on whether you decide to have a male or female child when your wife in the first half of the game gets pregnant. Another reason to call this game superior (in gameplay) to the first is the smarter monster AI. As Kyle wanders into the caves nearby town, he encounter's monster's that threaten his life. These monster's now retreat when threatened, and will sneak behind you and strike you down from there when the opportunity arises. Marriage is more of a focus here as to advance in the game to the Second Generation, you must marry one of the eligible marriage candidates and have a child. Although only about 1/2 of every dungeon is available in the first generation, the second generation will prove useful to get past the barriers that prevented you from proceeding in the first half, due to your significantly smaller size, being a child. While in the Second Generation, there are also much fewer people to choose from to be boyfriend or girlfriend with, which to me is a disappointment since you'll be spending most of your time as a child.
E3 will reveal more screen shots and possibly a release date, so stay informed with G4! g4tv.com (lol advertising)
