[Part] Other Side of The Mirror [One]
“I need her now!” The screeching moan echoed through the stone chamber. The sound of metal against rock grated through the formerly quiet air.
“H-her?” Came a soft stammering voice. It almost said more, but was choked off with a small scream. Blood spattered against the wall.
“I have no need for useless servants.” The first voice growled, then lapsed back into pained crying, pleading almost. Footsteps distantly clattered on the cold floor, and a man, no more than 18 it seemed, with hair black as night burst into the room. He had the strangest eyes, a mix of red and blue. A shiny iridescent piece of mirror hung from his left ear.
“You killed another one, sir?” The man inquired, hardly masking the exasperation in his voice.
“I will not stand for impudence.” The one that had been addressed as ‘sir’ stated, momentarily ignoring the pain that throbbed through his veins.
“Bring her to me, Aidan! Bring her now! Your petty sacrifices are barely keeping me alive. I need her!” He yowled, before the man, Aidan apparently could reply.
“Yes, Master Ryuuku.” Aidan said in an annoying monotone, bowing deeply. He had no idea who ‘she’ was, but he knew better than to say that he didn’t. His master expected everyone to know exactly what was on his mind.
“Get out of my sight or I’ll kill you too! You are as replaceable as the rest of them!” Ryuu roared, claws digging deeply into the stone before him. At that, Aidan turned on his heel and scurried from the room. “Like rats…” Ryuu murmured, collapsing onto his side with a cry of agony.

Aidan strode through the shadowy corridors of Ryuu’s fortress. A strange green light was emitted from the ice cold walls and floor. Otherwise, there was no lighting. There were no features that would tell you whether or not you were winding your way through the halls in the right direction. The earring that Aidan possessed shone black now, its properties canceled out by the strange greenness that was unique to the fortress. Aidan descended through the depths of the building, trotting down a winding staircase that seemed to go down forever. After ten minutes of this, the path flattened out and led him into a dungeon. Moans and screams for release met his ears, but, having been trained to ignore such things almost from birth, Aidan’s face was impassive. His pace didn’t slow once as he strode through the winding hallway, and he didn’t even give a glance to the people, and creatures, staring bleakly out at him from behind bars. Aidan did not stop until he had reached the very end of the hall. He unattached the jewelry from his ear, and instantly it morphed into a black key. He unlocked one of the cells, and pointed to a woman in the back.
“You. Siobhan. If you help me, Master Ryuuku will release you.” The woman stood, and crossed her arms over her chest. She was clothed in a bland, brown tunic, that was covered in dirt. Her sandals were old, and obviously uncomfortable. Still, her singsong voice was strong.
“Mr. Aidan, I would not assist that creature because my life depends on it.” She strode forward, winding between her cellmates, green-red eyes glittering coldly.
“And, Mr. Aidan, where would he release me from? This world? Or this place?” Aidan raised his eyebrows,
“You are most insightful Siobhan. Fine then. If you shall not help, you are of no necessity to Ryuuku.” With that, Aidan ran her through. The key in his hand had morphed into a sword at his will. The woman called Siobhan fell back, then her body faded away as if she had never existed. She was released, for without her mirror, she was nothing.
“Shadow-san, I will help you. Please, just give me my mirror back.” Cried a quietly sobbing girl. She stumbled forward, pushed on by an elder. Aidan winced at the sound of his nickname.
“Ah, Airii. I will accept your help. And you may have your mirror. You will be freed if you successfully aid Master Ryuuku. You know of my nickname?” Aidan gently took the child’s hand, and led her away from the prison. The cell door slammed shut and locked of its own accord.
“Y-yes, Shadow-san. You are R-Ryuuku’s shadow. You follow his every order, carrying them out from the background. The shadows… A-and you are a captive of the worst kind, who will be held to his death… At least the rest of us have a chance at being released… If we succumb to Ryuuku’s will…” Airii said, in her quiet, airy voice. Aidan did not reply for a moment. When he did, they were almost at the top of the long, spiral stairway.
“You are a smart child. Ryuuku may favor you. He may allow me to let you go.” He murmured, feeling Airii cringe away from him at his comment on her intellect.
“Come, now.” He said, leading her through the never-ending maze of corridors and rooms. Finally, they came to the library. The room was, of course, lined with bookshelves and chairs. In the center of the room, was a box that had a complex lock on the front. The top was decorated with and intriquet engraving of a dragon, a cat, and a hawk, all twined together at the feet. Aidan’s jewelry had transformed into a different key. With haste, he undid the lock and opened the box. Inside, was a whole collection of glittering mirrors. At contact with the air in the fortress, the multi-colored glass faded to black.
“Pick which ones yours.” Aidan said simply, taking a step back. Airii stood on tiptoes to see into the box. Her blue eyes stared intently at the box, then she dipped her hand in and pulled out a small mirror that was attached to a crimson ribbon. Joyously, she tied it around her neck.
“Alright, Shadow-san. What do you want me to do?” Airii inquired, a new confidence in her voice. Aidan smiled with a mocking sweetness.
“You need to open a portal to the other world for me. I need to be there for Master Ryuuku.”
Airii blanched, eyes widening in horror.
“What!? B-but I cant do that, Shadow-san!” She cried, staring up into the man’s strange eyes. His smile remained plastered on.
“But you will.”

Comments? Suggestions? Questions? =)
Part two will come out soon, methinks.
Ahahaha; apparently the first part of my story is very macabre. -facepalm- Oh well, I suppose its unnavoidable.

Well, there is a vague description in there; "a man, no more than 18 it seemed, with hair black as night burst into the room. He had the strangest eyes, a mix of red and blue. A shiny iridescent piece of mirror hung from his left ear." But I spose I should add more on him later, since he's a main character. xD

Heehee! Thankyou. =)
