Actually I don't. Or do I? What am I doing anyway? Um. Here we go! I am recovering from a cold (I'm at the mucusy stage. Wonderful, right?). Yesterday was the terrible throat-ache stage, where I spoke softly all day! Imagine that. I think the only time I yelled yesterday was when Sirus dug his nails into my back and when Ma mentioned that I would be having eye surgery today. Okay, um, picture this. You're looking at one of those bouncy hyper balls that were so popular years ago. Maybe the 90s? Who knows. It's covered with a tissue, but nothing is holding it there but, um...a lone staple. (Gosh, how can you be so clever, Akira?) Anyway, the hyper ball is your eye in this case and the tissue is the retina. The staple is the back of your retina, holding it in place. But, what if the staple broke? What if you had rips in the back of your retina? Then you would have a problem. Okay, okay, I'm crappy at comparing stuff, I know. But anyway, today I had surgery to prevent Lattice Degeneration, which is what I just poorly explained. Can this happen to you? Probably not. See, it's a risk for me because I have wonderfully wide eyes. I'm a miop. -9 in my right eye & -13 in my left. Fortunately, the surgery was painless and simple. All the doctor did was burn the back of the retina with a laser to create a scar to make the back of my retina strong. Now that I have thoroughly bored you, I must leave! =D
EDIT--If a large rock orbiting a planet is a moon and large moons often get a name of their own and a name should always be capitalized, then why does "the moon" not have a capital letter in front? Does Earth's moon not have an actual name? Or are astronomers just grammatically challenged?
