Prolouge and Chapter 1
Prolouge:

My eyes, widened, and my heartbeat faster. Was this a dream? Maybe not. All I know was that i had my long katana drawn, and my alli had his drawn as well.

"Well sweetie-"
"Don't call me that." I grumbled
"Sorry." he said gently, I knew the little joker ment it. He opend his mouth. "Look...Xi-Xi if we...dont make it out. I'll look for you upstairs okay?" he said, I knew he wasn't comfortable with saying it in normal terms. That was just him.

I smerked, we were surrounded and had no idea of hope but hell, the a*****e made me feel better. "Alright, I'll look for you to, I promise man. Thats if you get up there." I said taking a chance looking at him. Of course, a smug, goofy grin lightened his dirt ridden face. I shook my head smerking still.

"Come on, you know I dont do goodbyes. We totally are gonna win dude." I said standing up straight. He nodded. "Yeah..."

We heard the call, and the black suited knightes attacked. Us, me and him, back to back, jumped off into action. I could feel his aura change...same old demon he allways was.

Chapter 1:

Xaia leaned back in the kitchen chair, staring blankly at her mother pretending to listen to her cheerfull rant about boys, marrage, weddings and babies to her older sister Shana, who was getting hitched in a few weeks. Shana was older than Xaia by two years, and boy does she play that card alot.

Xaia and Shana's look were complete contrasts to eachother and didn't reflect their personalities very well. Shana, who was usually nice and sweet, had fire red hair and hazel eyes. Xaia, who had light purple hair and light green eyes, was tough, hard to break, and was a brillant fighter. Besides their personalities and looks that made the girls diffrent, Xaia had a medical condition where her eye sight sometimes went out. Like a blackout. The light effected how she could see.

Since this conversation didn't concern her, Xaia stood up and pulled the long blindfold out of her pocket and tied it around her head, covering her eyes. She got up and left the room, grabbing her long katana on the way out.

The sun shined brightly above Xaia, she could feel it on her light peach skin. It was hard for her to go out on days like this because of her blackout eyes. Even though she couldn't see, Xaia could feel everything around her. She knew when people were walking twords her or away from her, all the buildings and carts and market stalls she passed by.

In the world she lived in, demons, humans and angels co-exsisted. Xaia had friends of each, but related more to the angels and demons than she did the humans, probably because of her eyes. Speaking of which, she heard small fluttering around her, and she knew who it was. She felt the lighting change and she pulled down her blindfold and she looked over at her winged friend. "Hey Ed." she said in a flat tone.

The blonde angel landed on his feet and smiled. "Hey Xaia, eyes acting up?"

"I thought I would spare the sun some trouble." Xaia smerked. The boy named Edward grinned. "Yeah I figured." he chuckled.

Xaia shrugged. "Well, what brings you here?" she asked. Edward folded his pure white wings back, smiling very gently. "I just wanted to see my very best friend Xaia."

"What do you want Edward...?"

Edward scratched the back of his head ruffling his short blonde hair again. "Cash...before i get evicted."

Xaia groaned. "Again?! Jeeze dude your going to put ME in the hole asking me for your rent so much!" she exclamed, throwing her arms in the air acting like it was the end of the world.

Edward chuckled. "Xaia..." he said, with an all of a sudden pitiful as hell look.

"Im broke this month, assassians dont make that much these days ya know? Especially a partially-blind one." Xaia said crossing her arms across her chest.

Edward nodded. "Your right. But I don't get paid till friday and-"

Xaia put two fingers over his lips shutting him up. "I know this happens evey month. Your in the hole with me payment wise mister." She growled, he owed her over $1,000. Edward started to speak but Xaia shushed him. "Stuff it. Your moving in with me, mom and Shana. Since Shana's getting married in a month anyway. So get your s**t and make it fast cause the deal don't stand forever." Boy was she a softie for him. They we're friends forever.

Edward grinned. "Thanks Xi-Xi!!" he exclamed then flew off before she could punch him. "DON'T CALL ME THAT!!!!!" she screamed at him as he flew away.
