"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

I pledge allegiance... To what? A power hungry government? Pieces of technology that makes life easier? What happen to pledging your allegiance to a government that cared for its people, to your god, to your wife and kids and family and friends?
To the flag...The flag? The flag is no longer a respected symbol of American freedom. How many people do you see that actually look pleased or happy to stand up and respect the flag by reciting the "Pledge of Allegiance"? How many students in schools and their parents do you see that get angry at the thought of reciting the pledge to a flag?
Of the United States of America...United? Pft! Yeah right! America probably doesn't even know when it was last united. 19th century? Revolutionary War? No longer does America's people care about her or being one nation. About coming together to help others who need it. To thoughs who need money and hep and guidence. To thoughs who lost their homes and prized possision to fire or flood or a hurrican.
To the Republic...Republic? What are we Star Wars? And for all those people who've seen all the Star Wars, the old and the new, you know what happens to the Galactic Republic. It was corrupted by Chancellor Palpatine and the way he was able to manipulate all those people, and then we all know who he truely was in end, Darth Sidious. And looked what happen. The galaxy became fearful of the Empire, who used fear and power to keep control. Could that be a possiblity in the future? If that possibility occurs, I believe I wouldn't be surprised. But it wont be like Star Wars. Because as much as I can tell, we have yet to get our "Leia", "Ben", "Han Solo", "Darth Vader/Anikan Skywalker", "The Emperor" and "Luke".
For Which it Stands...Stands? Ugh! "...To the republic for which it stands..." The republic stands for nothing but power hungry people. Uh-uh. Like anyone now a days really wants to stand when they rather be lazy and sit on their arse. Stand! Pft! What a line. No one stands for anything anymore. We humans are to cowardly to stand up for anything because that could cause change. More then half the population of America, I'm sure, is deathly afraid of change. So the likely chance for an American to stand up for some thing or someone is, like, 10 out of a million.
One Nation... One nation I'm sure. Pft! Like this "United States of America" is one nation. When have we ever truely been one nation? In the 1700 maybe? In the time of the Revolutionary War? Since, during that time they fought for freedom from the British for the greater good of future generation. Freedom from the British, from being forced to do things we wish not to do, so that the future generation could live peacefully.....getting fat, lazy and dumb. No. Our Forefather's probably didn't fight for that to happen I'm sure. The closest the United States was to being united was probably 9-ll. Coincidence that today just so happens to be 9-11 as well. With the Twin Towers, the Pentagon and the attempt of the White House being hit. Was that the cause of us, a continent full of imperfect beings, to come together to once, after who knows how long, again and become a nation that was united despite how long this moment of union lasted. Was it the voices of loved ones and people we don't know that we heard on that faithful day as they called to love ones, and the unbelievable site of what was left of the Twin Towers?
Under God...Under God, huh? Where is this "God"? This mighty being who's love for everyone, as imperfect as they are, is overflowing. God! Do you not hear your people cry!? Do you not hear them call for your help?! To bring peace upon this imperfect world and nation? And what's up with you people who believe in this God? Weren't you raised to believe. Wasn't this nation created on the word of God?
Indivisible...Pft! Our nation is dividable. Can't you see. Can't you see the sterotypes of this "United States of America". This nation is divided by the judgement upon someones race, religion, sex, age, past history, and the amount of money they have. Though we may be perfect, couldn't we pull together at least a tea spoon of compassion or love for someone who is different from us? You look at someone who speaks different, or dresses differently or praises another god and you judge them. From only looking at them you know everything about them. From the time they learned to walk to the time they left their home country or moved to another state. Isn't it one of God's rule or something to leave the judging to him and not to us humans? Because if we leave it for us to decide we well become even more diviable.
With Liberty...What liberty? We, we this nation of power hungry people, where if we state our opinion to loudly and it doesn't agree with the government, we are beaten or thrown in jail. We let ourselves be lead like blind animals. Like a shephard and his sheep in the old days. Did you know when a sheep left the herd and when the shephard found the lost sheep the shepherd would break the leg of the sheep, so the sheep would know not to leave the herd again. And then the shephard would carry it on his shoulders to repay the sheep by taking care of it. That is what the government is doing with us to a point. We are the lost sheep in a way just like the government is the shephard that breaks our leg so that we know not to wonder from what it dislikes.
And Justice...Justice? Yeah, right! What in the world makes you think this nation has any justice. Were a corrupted government. Our justice system has put innocent people in jail for reasons that are completely inhuman or make no sense at all. The justice system has also ruined the lives of covicted criminals and child molesters because for the rest of their lives they will never be accepted in a community or be able to get a job just because of something they did and have changed so they, in hopes, could live normal lives. But their lives will never be normal because for the rest of their life they'll have a little black star by their names that will alert everybody. I'm not saying that I am fine with people commiting crimes and molesting children but still would you ever want to be denied something because of being a criminal or child molester.
For All... For all? For all we've been through shouldn't we get something from it. Something worth while. Something that the Nation can share and not have a controverce over because there isn't something right about it. For all of us couldn't we get a fair, trusting, kind, and faithful government since the first Americans lost their lives and loved one's for our freedom. So, no longer would we be the 13 colonies under the control of England but the United States of America. Don't we, the people, deserve a nation, a home, a government that for all of us we feel at peace. Don't we deserve a future that isn't going to be black and white because we don't care for what happens. Because we only care for ourselves and we strive at the only goal of being safe. For all that had been done for us, don't we deserve to be free like our forefathers fought for 225 years ago when they no longer wished to belong to England but belong to themselves.
