Reluctant Protagonists
We walk on two legs, not on four. To walk on four legs breaks the law. What happens when we break the law? What happens when the rules aren't fair? We all know where we go from there; back to the house of pain...
And the Macross Frontier finale wins. They did everything I had expected them to do, but they pulled it off beautifully in my opinion. Completely reminiscent of the epic battle between earth and the Bodol Fleet during the first space war in the original Macross. Minor cameos included, which made me happy, but the thing I liked most was the mega mix of the soundtrack. I didn't think it sounded quite as good as it should have during all of the dialog, but I imagine that we should see something like it on the next single with the new versions of songs. I would hope so at least.

Very happy ending with pretty much everything settled, but what gets me is the fact that it stopped at 25... Usually anime seasons go to 26 episodes, which makes me think that they'll try to go to fifty like they did with Macross7. I can't imagine what they'd be doing though, because the story is done. Unless, they start a new story in order to flesh out the love story even more, but having a comedic season after this would be extremely difficult to keep people watching. Macross isn't like Full Metal Panic! where people expect humor from the maladapted protagonist after all. I'm anxious to see how they'll pull it off, or if this is truly the end of Macross as all the cameos would imply. I wonder if they still have the Supervision Army to deal with... Just a thought...

About my weekend. I started feeling better physically, so I attended the Japan Festival, which was oodles of noodles and tons of fun! I took a lot of video there, and partook in some of the lectures and rakugo. Many pictures of bonsai trees, so once I get those all phtobucketed, I'll think about posting them too (some of them were really cool). There weren't so many cosplayers this year around, which was nice because there shouldn't be much at all during a cultural festival, but I did snap one because her dress was simply adorable, but as for the Narutards and Bleach kids, there weren't much more cosplayers. Maybe a Yagami Light and some other girl dressed as Sora from Kingdom Hearts. The kendo was fun, I'll check out their open air dojo and see if I want to train there (free is always a good reason to do something). I also plan on checking out the iaido places too if I get the chance, but I don't really feel like paying the 28 bucks a month to the gym that hosts the one guy, or the rent donation to the other who's opening his first school. I didn't have enough money to buy any good Japanese food again, because I spent it all on teh loots, but that only means that I made off like a bandit with Ranma manga that will help me learn to read when I get caught up on my homework. ^.^

I had a brief moment of going insane after the festival though, which I'm really sorry if I bothered anyone during that time... I just kept having bad feelings about stuff that I totally didn't understand. O.o It could be the fact that I'm still weak and achy from the illness I'm getting over, or the fact that the only sleep I do get is when the rats aren't fighting 24/7...yeah, pretty much none. I was alone all weekend too, so that made it much worse. But as far as things go, I finally got back into the dojo, and I'm feeling well enough to kick people again (almost), so I'm content with life at the moment.

I do need my friends right now though... Joe is slowly showing the fact that he lives in a box to me as he kept asking questions during the iaido demo--he didn't get why they only did one stroke before replacing the blade in the saya, and I think I confused him more when I explained the concept of budo... Oh well. He's a good guy, I just need someone with a bit more understanding these days. And then I'll always go back to him for sparring. ^.^ Which he probably won't have much of a problem with.
