"Men! Romans! Brothers! Today, we stand for the glory that is Rome. Our enemy is at our gates. They plan to slaughter us. To destroy our homes. To rape our wives and send our sons to slavery. They shall not have us! We will fight them off! We will send them to the Underworld so Hades himself can do justice upon the traitors of Rome. We fight men who were trained under the Imperial legion just as us. Yet, we are true men of Rome. And Rome cannot die! And as Romans! WE! WILL! NOT! DIE!"

The men of Rome cheered. Titus knew they needed little encouragement as most Romans believe in their might...and the gods. Captain Arrianus filled him in on the battle plans. They were outnumbered three to one. Titus' army was exhausted and food was in short supply here. With barely 700 men....Titus would have to divide some of his force -- about 200 -- and have Arrianus take them to try and ambush Sextus' army. Titus would hold the walls until Arrianus was in position, then fall back to the center of town so they could bottleneck them in the gateway and between the buildings. Arrianus would come in from the rear and attack them. It was risky, since Sextus might keep a bulk of his army outside the walls that would hinder Arrianus and destroy their plan. Many things could go wrong. His men saluted him as they went into position. They were good men. If only he could have lived a little longer...
