its all around and it makes us feel better

it feels good to be utterly powerless but to none-the-less detect a contradiction in someone who is more powerful and less voulnerable than we are

because it makes us feel like WE were superior for that moment, that tiny redundant moment in time, that WE were somebody better, somebody cleverer, somebody bigger, somebody greater, a somebody to match them, to beat them, somebody...

but we arent,
nobody is as clever
or as big
or great
as they think they are
and therein is the greatest hypocrisy of all
to think that someone is superior and inferior simultaneously
to make ourselves feel better and worse
a bittersweet nothing-
melancholy

hypocrisy is ugly, its a flaw in our humanity, a sick irony that is exposed and paraded in an attempt to remove its significance - to relieve it's slow, painful decay of our society

this was practice for my english exam next week, the creative writing question
- i picked a word at random (guess which) and wrote non-stop about it

i dont think i'll do the creative writing section
