Premonition of Death (A RP Idea)
Premonition of Death is my new Halloween Hysteria based roleplay. The title is subject to change, but I'm quite fond of it at the moment so change is highly unlikely. This is what I have for the roleplay so far.

General Rules
-Follow the Gaia ToS.
-This RP is strictly PG-13.
-This is a literate RP. You must be able to spell and utilize proper English grammar well at all times. That means no asterisks or text speak. If you break this rule you will be blacklisted.
-All Out of Character speech is to be put in parenthesis at the beginning or end of your post. Keep OOC at a minimum though and no posts that are just OOC. That will not be tolerated and you will be blacklisted.
-No cybering, either in the roleplay itself or in PMs.
-Foul language in to be kept to a bare minimum. It detracts from the story and puts a damper on the fun of roleplaying.
-No god-modding, period. This includes killing off other people's characters or posting actions taken by another's character that has not already been posted by the character's creator. Recaps are fine.
-I reserve the right to change/add/modify the rules as I see fit. I will notify all players of changes to the rules in the RP.

Character Rules
-The amount of character slots open is virtually unlimited, however, I will try to keep the list of characters to a manageable number, like five or six players with one-two characters each.
-Each character will have to be a member of one of four races. They are Dark Elf, Vampire, Human, and Werewolf.
-There will be a maximum of three characters per race unless the number of characters increases. This rule is subject to change depending on the popularity of the roleplay.
-There will also be options for class such as: assassin, healer, warrior, artisan, merchant, thief, courier, mistral, bard. I prefer for each of the class positions to be filled if possible, however, I realize that there are not enough classes for each to be used only once. So, multiples are allowed. Please check the "Classes" post for information on which classes are still open before deciding.
-Each player can have a maximum of two characters, but they must be from separate races, have different classes, and of opposite gender.

The Story
Sixth Day of the First Month in the Year of the Fall

The four races lived together in peace. That is, until he came. A man from across the seas. He appeared to be a human as well as a vampire, a werewolf, and a dark elf. No one knew who he was, but he knew us. The people of Terra. Our once peaceful country now ravaged by war. Somehow he managed to turn us all against each other. Of course, we held rocky alliances with each other. The vampires and the werewolves were always trying to one up the other, but they kept it relatively civilized. The Dark Elves and Humans weren't completely at ease with each other either. I suppose it was only a matter of time before the delicate balance crumbled to dust beneath our shoes, but I sincerely hoped it would never happen. I guess I was wrong. Now we fight for our very lives. Each race looks out for themselves and only themselves. Alliances couldn't even be formed with those of us who were on fairly good terms; the Dark Elves and Vampires, Werewolves and Humans. And it is all because of him. That man who decided that he would revel in the tragedies of war and chaos. So that is what we call him, Chaos. It is the last remaining thing the four races can agree upon.


This is the last recorded entry in the journal of Kanna the Wise, former Queen of the Dark Elves, killed in battle with the Humans. She fell the next day after writing this depressing observation. Her dearest hope was that, perhaps someday Terra would return to normal and the four kingdoms would again be at peace. Now her daughter leads in the kind Queen's place. She must rule in a time of conflict and doubt. Her colleagues, the leaders from the other kingdoms are just as lucky. Now you must decide how this war will play out. Will you give in to Chaos and his demented plans for destroying all that is Terra? Or will you join together with the other races and drive the embodiment of pure evil from your once beautiful land? Only you can decide the fate of Terra. This is your story...

Races
(This section is a quick description of each of the four races. So far, there are only four from which you can choose. As of yet, there will be no other races, so please do not ask to be a race which has not already been listed. Also, refer to this post when trying to determine potential allies and enemies, which are also listed.)

Dark Elf- These humanoid creatures sport blue-gray skin and pointed ears. They are also considered "immortal", which, in this case, means that they lead very long lives and Human sickness does very little towards affecting this graceful, peace-loving people. Although, due to their long lifespan they have enough time to get really acquainted with martial arts and are fierce fighters. They are very similar to the human ninja except stronger, faster, and stealthier.

Likely Enemies- Humans

Vampire- The living dead who drink the blood of mortals to gain their awesome power. Normal attacks will do very little, if anything, against them. However, they are susceptible to the general vampire hunting legends, such as a wooden stake through the heart, garlic, holy water, and sunlight. But watch your back. These solitary creatures are much like the Elves in that they have had many years to perfect their fighting techniques, however, they tend to rely on their near invincibility and are not as good in martial arts as their Elven counterparts.

Likely Enemies- Werewolves

Human- The most fragile of all the races. They have relatively short life spans when compared with Elves and Vampires, but they are also more versatile and adapt to their surroundings more easily. Quick-thinking is the main skill of this proud people. They are forced to use weapons, shields, and armor when fighting the other races since their bodies are so much more susceptible to injury and sickness. However, they heal the fastest next to the Werewolves.

Likely Enemies- Dark Elves

Werewolf- These are humanoid changelings with their second form being that of a wolf. They can change at will, but are more powerful during the full moon. When the moon is hidden, these powerful creatures are near helpless as they derive their power from the light of the moon, their goddess. A Werewolf's main weapons are their teeth and claws propelled by enhanced strength. Werewolves heal the fastest of the four races, however, when in human form they are reduced to the skills and disadvantages of a Human.

Classes
(This section contains a brief description of each of the possible classes. The necessity of each class will be mentioned at the end of its description, so that we can fill the roles we absolutely need in the roleplay. Unnecessary classes are indicated by parentheses. Also, each class must have one member before multiple characters can be in one class. This is per race, so four warriors is fine as long as they are from four different races. )

Assassin- Similar in skill to the legendary ninja, members of this class sneak around the battlefield and attack their enemies secretly from the shadows before returning to cover anonymous. Characters who choose to be assassins are trained in the arts of killing, stealth, survival, and emergency battlefield medicine. Generally, Dark Elves occupy this class.

Healer- These brave souls dart around the battlefield tending to the wounded and comforting the dyeing. They hardly ever fight, but are well trained in the medicinal arts. In fact, all of the races (except the Vampires who do not have Healers) have a mutual guild to which all Healers belong. They alone are indiscriminate between the races.

Warrior- The main attack and defense forces of each of the races. They fight on the battlefields. They come in various groups, including infantry, cavalry, etc. They are well trained in the art of war and such skills as battle strategy, anatomy for killing or crippling any race, simple emergency battlefield medicine.

Artisan- These people are civilians who live within the town walls and know quite a bit about the ongoing war. They are responsible for keeping each of the Kingdoms' economies running smoothly and make and sell specialized items in the marketplace. They run armories, blacksmith shops, and various jewelry and clothing stands.

Merchant- Civilians who help keep the individual economies running by growing and selling food in the marketplace. Some may also deal in information if the price is right. They know quite a lot about almost everything. Sometimes even more than their respective governments. These people can be butchers, farmers, or members of the back alley markets.

Thief- These people are civilians who steal from the wealthier citizens for a living. They are usually young, small, and common in appearance, well-suited for pickpocketing and getting away from the authorities. They have also been known to be hired out to steal information from the enemies or wreak havoc on their military encampments.

Courier- Members of the military who do not fight, but, instead transport important messages between the frontlines and their leaders. They are extremely loyal with very good memories. They will die before divulging important information to the enemy.

Mistral- Female civilians who entertain for a living. They sing and dance the story of the war and the time before Chaos arrived. Some of the women are also capable of performing as thieves and amateur assassins as well as performing for royalty.

Bard- Male civilians who have delved into the arts of story-telling and music. They sing of the war and the time before Chaos arrived. They are very good at lifting the people's spirits and are often invited into the Inner Courts.
