My Thoughts
Just my thoughts put into words. Nothing else.
November 12, 2004
Good news, ladies and gentlemen! I'm not sick anymore, but I'm not exactly out of the woods yet.

This is because my double middle ear infection has now left my ears badly blocked to the point where I can just about make out the sound of people's voices. It's also causing me to hear things in different tones as a result of this as well.

I'm already sick of this crap... xp

Anyway, on to the lighter side of things, that is if you can FIND the lighter side of things nowadays... rolleyes

I went to Dillon's a few days ago and picked up a few rentals when I was over there with my mother. I picked up a coupla games along the lines of Mortal Kombat: Deception and ShellShock: Nam '67.

Mortal Kombat: Deception was a blast to play. However, the only thing that struck me funny was the introduction of these instant death traps on certain stages and also Hara-Kiri's as well. This one also had some new characters as well as some returning old favorties as well. Heh, heh. I rock as Sub-Zero, man. I'm doing pretty well as Scorpion as well, but Sub-Zero is my all time favorite. I mastered and intergated one of this multi style-branching combos in just a few short days and already I'm hauling a** and taking names. The only thing I did different was I added a back-triangle attack along with the original combo. There were even combinations that didn't even think about creating! Like I said, I rock.

Ok, now on to ShellShock: Nam '67.

Obviously, right from the start, you can tell that this isn't gonna be a game for little kiddies to play, seeing how this game touches on a VERY serious subject: The Vietnam War. I mean, go figure. There IS a reason it's rated "M" for Mature.

To be quite honest, when I played this game for myself, I ain't seen or played a game that was quite like this one. I mean, to see what the Vietnam vets had to go through on that day, to see the heinous acts that were commited, and what's this I see? A LIGHTER side to Vietnam?!

Well, I see the reason to that. Reason being is because, hey, it IS Vietnam, the time IS set in 1967, and obviously, there IS an R&R compund at the base camp you're at, complete with a pair of ladies courtesy of "Mama-san" for your... "entertainment".

Like I said, there IS a reason it's rated "M", people, and lemme tell you, although it's visually a splendid piece of art, it's also the most brutal game to play.

Now, call me sadistic or whatever might be going thorugh your head right now, but this game was great to play. I knew right away that I wasn't going to be disappointed.

Well, I guess I better get going, much to do and so little time to do it with... Such a shame... rolleyes
