[Renae's POV]
"Hn. He's right. We do look alike," I said, shrugging my shoulders as I turned to walk to History. "So much alike, I'd almost believe we were sisters if I didn't know better," I mused quietly. I let out a sigh when I got there. "Here goes. Same routine as before. I talk to the teacher, teacher does the intro, then class drags by," I mumbled as I walked up to the teacher's desk. "Rachael? You're earlier than usual," the blond woman behind the desk noted. "Huh? Oh, no. My name's Renae. But I prefer to be called Ren, though," I explained. "Great. She's in this class, too?" I thought to myself, wondering if the woman who gave me my schedule had thought I was Rachael trying a name change, and had decided to give me the same schedule as she had. "Oh, I see," the teacher said, breaking me out of my reverie. "You just look so much like Rachael Hale, I thought you were her. So very sorry, Miss Ren. I'm Mrs. McAdams," she stated, smiling as she extended a hand to me, expecting me to shake it, I guessed. When I made no move to take it, she let it drop to her side and cleared her throat. "Yes, well, um, I just rearranged the seating in here. In my class, we have assigned seats. Just look for your name on one of the desks," she said, smiling again. "Great," I thought sarcastically, "a happy one." I found my seat and noticed I sat next to Rachael. Again. Just as I noted that, Rachael walked in. "Rachael," the woman called to her, "seating's rearranged" was all she said. "Rach" seemed to understand. Her eyes flitted from desk to desk until she found hers. "Oh," she mumbled quietly as she saw me. "You have this class, too?" I just nodded. That seemed to be enough as she said nothing more and took her seat as the others began filing in. Class began like usual. The teacher introduced me to the class, I stood and said a few words, then sat back down as the teacher started the lesson. After History came P.E., my least favorite. "Great. Phys. Ed....what fun," I thought satirically as I walked to the gym. "Oh, hi, Rachael. And, um, who are you?" the gray-haired man asked, as Rachael and I walked in at the same time. "Renae. But call me Ren," I replied. "Does she have this class, too? Geez! I can't escape her. She's everywhere!!" I thought bitterly as the man took out a clipboard and examined it. "Ah, Renae Black, right? You must be the new girl. I'm Mr. Patterson," he said and extended his hand to me. I shook it once then dropped it. P.E. seemed to fly by and, miraculously, I escaped it unscathed as the final bell rang. It was finally time to go home. "Finally!" I mumbled as I gathered my things and slammed my locker shut, locking it. I walked outside and sat on the bench by the window to wait for my mom to arrive.
