no... not by a long shot. It not even better than Casino Royale or Goldeneye.

why?

1) Weak plot
2) poor character development
3) crazy fast pacing making movie very difficult to follow
4) no charm or wit or anything funny from Bond himself which is a major departure from Casino Royale
5) lack of memorable sequences in epic scope
6) I don't care about villain's plan for domination, this one felt totally WTF weak
7) introduced to Quantum for short time and push it to corner? lame

I am sorry, they should have left Casino Royale alone with perfectly excuted story and character development. Following it up with sequel (which is the first for this series) proven as a failure and really hurted this long storyline that follow after Vesper's death and Bond's continued career as beginning of 007 role. It weak, uninspired, choppy, and fast at so many level. But the way story went after Quantum of Solace... I fear that they have to make another sequel to close this story line.... WHEE.

I give Quantum of Solace a B- because while it is a very weak Bond film, it is a neat action film overall with polished effects and very brutal chases and fights and gunfight and some neat twists in the plot (even if they're weak, they would be satisfying to others). Eh, I won't see it again or even buy it. Casino Royale and few other Bond movies will remain some of best to me.
