It's Sometimes hard for me to believe that we're REALLY alive, that we really exist and aren't just figments of our own imaginations, ready to disappear like a puff of smoke at a moment's notice. One moment we're infants, clinging to our mothers, the next we may be young adults working our way though college and trying to start keeping ourselves alive.
We're here, alive, breathing. We feel love, hate, annoyance, sadness, joy, fear, grief...We have lasting emotions and feelings or opinions that may never change; we all have a reason, a purpose, to live. Everyone has hidden desires and gaols, ulterior motives to his or her everyday actions. We were put here for a reason because reason is why we exist. Paradoxical as that may be, it's the truth. Life functions because we will it so, every action we make sets off hundreds, thousands, or millions of other, separate but inadvertently connected reactions. Every person on earth is interconnected with one another by a complicated and intricate web spun by time. everything done within an hour could possibly affect what's done in a year and how it's done. Think of pregnancy. In one hour a life could change by the decision to use a condom or not use a condom. To have sex or to not have sex.
Yet people continue on with small, trivial, menial things and ignore the marvel, the miracle, that is life. When one sits and simply THINKS, it's hard to deny the existence of a higher power, God. We are here, beautifully existing despite our many flaws, for our flaws make the beautiful part only that much more beautiful; we are complicated beyond belief and yet so simple. We live, we breathe, we feel...
And yet so many of us exist without existing...so many of us waste our precious time...so many of us wait it out, on tenterhooks....just waiting to disappear like a puff of smoke, denying that any of us really existed at all.
