The Next thing fate has planned for me
The Untitled Story
Chapter I

As I ponder through the memories of my past, I begin to wonder, where did I go wrong? How did I end up here? Where is here you might ask? Right now, I am trapped in this dark, and damp room, I begin to look back on my life vivid detail. Just like that expression, what was it? Before death, your life flashes before your eyes. I cannot see, those monsters who have taken me, covered my eyes, and tied my hands. The only things I can do are to lay here, think, and remember.
I can hear the faint sounds of footsteps outside the door of this room. I think there two people walking about outside my room, or one guy walking really fast. Each passing moment draws me closer and closer to my impending doom. I fear for my life that this may be the end for me. So many regrets of things that I could’ve changed, running through my head and never stopping. I begin to think back to the first thing I can remember. Back to what my mother said to me.
“What was it she said?” I whispered. “What did she say?” I yelled.
There were knocks on the door. “Hey, shut the hell up!” an unknown man yelled in a deep menacing voice. As I rolled to the direction of his voice, the footsteps faded away. As if they were walking away from my room. But then… they stopped. I heard knocking on the door of the room next to me and the door slammed open. “Come on you, it’s your turn to see the boss.” The same man yelled.
“No! Not again! I can’t take it again.” A woman screamed desperately. I got up to my knees during their struggle which for about ten minutes. Then, everything went quiet. I knelt there, still and silent. Then there was a crash, as if a truck ran through a plate glass window.
“You’ll never get me to see that a*****e again.” The woman screamed.
“Don’t do it girl, you know that there is a way to help you.” The man said.
“There is nothing wrong with me, and you know that.”
“Just get down off the windowsill and come with us.”
“Sure, I’ll get down.” I heard something fall. I feared for the worst for her. She must have jumped, there’s no other excuse.

“Damn… Lost another one… O well.”
Things didn’t seem to get better. That voice sounded so familiar. I just can’t seem to remember why. I thought to myself. I scoured around on the floor, searching for something. Hoping that there was something in this room. Eventually, I bumped into a bed. It was more like a cot though but I wasn’t complaining. I struggled to try and get my balance and sat on the edge of it and leaned back. I didn’t realize how short it was as I hit my head on the concrete wall. It wasn’t exactly fun, especially the excruciating pain that came with it. Even though my vision was completely black already, I could feel myself slipping into unconsciousness. Everything felt faded, drifting away, slowly but suddenly.
I tried to stay awake, but the hope of things being alright again continued to slip through my fingers. It’s all because of the people who I thought were my friends. The ones who stabbed me in the back and made my life a living hell. I can’t blame them though; I was holding them back from everything they could’ve been. I helped them out with everything. Which probably lead to my downfall, or maybe this hellhole? Could it be that maybe it was my entire fault. That everything I did was all a lie. No, it couldn’t be. Could it?
I hoped, all this thinking would keep me awake in case something would have happened.
Just then, the door slammed open. I rose up, my head felt as light as a feather. A thundering voice roared, “Alright, you! On your feet, the Boss says you’re next.”
“The Boss?” I asked. “Who is this Boss you speak of?”
“A wise guy eh!”
I was punched clear across the face. I flew over the edge of the cot hitting my skull onto the floor. I estimated that there were two people in here other then me. They both grabbed me by the ankle and dragged me out of the room. My shoulder hit the door frame as we turned the corner. I think that I dislocated it, because it felt very limp. We must have been travelling through a hallway as it took a while to get from one area to the

next. There were all sorts of noises coming from each side of me. Sounds that would haunt even the sanest of men, and drive them completely mad. All the sounds of maniacal laughter, screams of help, and worst of all, scratching. Oh the scratching! People clawing at the walls and windows, wanting to escape and find freedom.
Eventually, they stopped dragging me. I heard a door open and they threw me in. I landed on carpet that was very soft. It was also very warm in there, almost as if there was a fire a couple feet away. The door slammed behind me. I scrambled to my feet and turned towards the door, supposedly.
“Ah, Mr. M welcome to my office.” A woman’s voice said.
I turned to the voice. It was gentle, almost as if she was a young woman. Again, this voice sounded so familiar to me. Yet I couldn’t figure out who it was.
“Please, take a seat sir. I will be with you in just a moment” she said. I heard her starting to leave the room
“Umm, ma’am, I can’t see and I can barely move.” I said in an uneasy tone. “And, my name is not Mr. M. My name is-”
“That’s not important now,” she interrupted “I have some things that you need to know and I don’t want you to be afraid of what you don’t know.” Her footsteps grew more and more distant. Then, they were gone.
“What are you talking about? What things? What’s going on here?” I yelled. There was no answer.
Moments of silence caused me to wander around the room. I bumped into a table and something fell on the floor and made a loud crash. I guess it was a vase but, I couldn’t even begin to guess what it could’ve been. I was right about the fire as I could hear it crackling in the corner of the room. Obviously, I wouldn’t head in that direction. As I searched for the chair, I found a desk. It was a very long desk that seemed to be in the middle of the room. It seemed almost out of place, but I still couldn’t tell where anything was in here anyways.

Just then, I heard footsteps coming back to the room. I panicked at the thought of who it was or what they might do to me. I ran around the room trying to find a place to hide. A door slid open behind me. I ran forward hoping to get away, with no luck. I lost my footing and slipped. I fell back and hit my head on the desk.
“Not again,” I whispered to myself. This time though, I did slip into unconsciousness.
“Oh my!” the woman said, running over towards me. “Are you ok? I knew this was going to happen.”
There was finally some light in my eyes after everything went dark again. It was small and kind of dim, but it was growing, and got brighter and brighter. Until, it became blinding. I could finally see again and I was in a field; a wide open ring of grass with trees lining the outer rim of it. The sight was out of a story book fairytale. Out in the distance, I saw her. I saw my one true love. Alexandra, her long brown hair, hazel eyes, and pronounced figure. She was up on top of the hill, in a white flowing dress. She began running down to me with arms wide open, each step as graceful and balanced as the next. It was a dream coming true before my very eyes. I caught her as she ran into my arms. Holding her close and never wanting to let go.
“I’ve missed you so much.” She said
“I missed you too. I love you.” I said passionately
“I love you too” she replied. We kissed and it felt like a flame burned underneath of us. Igniting the passion we held for each other.
“You have no idea how much I missed this.” I said. “There is so much that I need to tell you.”
“Well, it’s going to have to wait, love” she answered. “There is a time and place for everything, but there are other things you have to worry about now.”
“What do you-“

“Hush now. You will understand soon enough.” She said calmly. “I will see you again soon.”
“Please don’t leave. Not again.” I pleaded.
“I’m sorry.” She cried. As she turned and walked away
“ALEXANDRA!” I yelled and tried to run to her, but it was no use. I tried to run faster and faster, but I never got any closer as I got pulled back to reality. The light faded away and everything was dark again. In the faint distance, there was a voice calling me. Telling me to wake up.
