I'm not entirely sure how to describe it. In my area, the snow seems to like to be moody when it first comes around. We've got in in late August, even a few days before Christmas. Though it never skips us, that's for sure.
Hope you like it~

That time of year rolls around.
It always does.
Though, now...
It doesn't come right away.
It did years ago.
When we were young.
Making angels.
Having little fights, laughing.
Sledding down the hill, sometimes racing.
All the more to have fun.
It may be cold...
Despite that, it was beautiful.
It is cold again.
But... where is it?
The ground looks so bare.
Falling asleep that night.
Dreams of not such a lonesome cold.
It had a beautiful dancing partner.
White flakes that danced and mingled.
To their own song carried on the whispering wind.
Awakening to the day and the cold.
Getting ready, like always.
Walking upstairs.
Getting ready to leave for work.
Thinking 'Maybe a green Christmas won't be that bad.'
Reaching for the door, it seems a little colder than usual.
The door opens and the wind comes to greet.
Only the light outside is blinding, as eyes try to adjust.
A smile forms as it comes to reality.
That dream...
That winter wonderland...
Wasn't just a dream.
It was all just the first snowfall of the year.
And it was more than just a white dream.
It always does.
