I'm always surprised of how people love to talk. Of what they are doing, what they've done, what they like/dislike, and what they know. So many thoughts put into words. It's bewildering of the variety of what just one mind can conceive. Let alone 8 billion.
But there is a sad part to this awesome ability to share ones mind. Hatred. It's sad that people are so quick to say such hurtful things without even thinking about the impact of what those words have. In fact, some words have been said so many times that they have lost their strength.
Cuss words had so much power to them in the past. But no longer. These words have become so common that they are said without even being thought about. Doesn't matter the age or person. Censoring these words seems like a joke considering that nearly everyone already knows what they are.
Words that don't have such a bad reputation seem to have more of an impact, in my opinion. For example, if some said this to me, "F@#$ You A$$hole!", so what? What does that mean? Do people even know where the word f@#$ came from and what it means? And what is bad about an a$$hole? Oh, its dirty, but natural to have one. Its rather immature if you think about it. Its like saying, " you DIRTY FEET!"
If you say something like this, "You're worth nothing! You're pathetic and pointless!" That has meaning. It's hurtful and downgrading. But if you think of the actually meaning of it, you get depressed about the actuality of what that person feels about you. Being hated can be one of the worse things in life.
Yet there is a twist to this whole thing. The impact of the words only compare to the person that it comes from. If some homeless guy that is drunk off his a$$ says, "You a$$hole, go to hell where you belong!" you will shrug it off after being a little freaked out. You wouldn't remember it in a year or so. But, if someone who you love and respect says that. Ouch...
So my point being, if you are no one to someone else and you say hurtful things, that does nothing but cause a ruckus that gets no one any where. It's like throwing someone into cold water. Sure it will be shocking to them for a while and then they adjust to the temperature and forget all about it. So what is the point?
It all depends on how people are raised. Being narrow minded and ignorant can turn a person into an awful creature. Ignorance is bliss to oneself but a damming to everyone else.
