Who needs them? I do, thats for sure. I have a few best friends whom I trust with my life. One of them I know in person. I don't think he knows he's my best friend. Three of them are here on gaia. I'm not going to mention their names as to protect them from harm. Without them (excluding the one that is not on gaia), my gaian days would have been cut short. I value them. I hope someday, if I go crazy for whatever reason, they will continue to be my friend and knock some sense back into me. I lay my life for them. I am sure that, one of them that is reading this, knows for a fact that he is my best friend, despite the age difference and my other crazy friend who bothered him (I'm still sorry). I hold them dear to my heart. I have gotten meaner ever since I hit that one guy, and also a little of a "Monster." I hope our friendships will continue to grow over the years and withstand the test of time.
