On coming to Gaia the Dark Elves somewhat reminded me of my kin in Faerun. The Drow are what my people have been known as through their existence. My people are known as an evil race. Many may ask how can an entire race be evil. In many of the realms I have traveled through out my decades of life I have seen plenty of realms who would rightfully question me on such a statement. So then I ask the question are the Drow evil?
Yes they are, my family left Guallidurth to hunt me down. However I hope that it is because they wish to better themselves as I have. Guallidurth was a large city of my people. We were the fifty first ruling house of the nation. Our Matron my mother was bent on waring with those in power above her. She wished to be on the ruling council of the city. As was every house under the twenty first. Twenty one ruling houses, all had enemies with the rest of the homes. Why they would such a city be run that way?
Simply put it was the way and will of the Spider Queen Lolth. Only in her ways would the Drow do such vile acts. Her ways of deception and lies were the ways of the Drow ever since they forsake their cousins of the surface. Our people
hated the Elves or as we called them the Faeries those who loved the nature around them. I had never taken part in a surface raid, though when I finally made my own way to the surface and laid eyes on those who my race hated I wonder to what cause is the hate.
How can the Drow, who know the the deception of Lolth. Why would they continue to live that way of life, why would not one question if what we know is true? The way of the Drow is to deceive kill and dedicate your life to the all mighty Spider Queen. However does that mean we are trapped? How could we be trapped if I made my way out of the harsh world of the Underdark. Though I some time miss the world I came from, I never am ashamed to look onto the sun rise and admire it's beauty.
How then can I be considered a Drow if they are evil? If they must be evil does that mean no matter where I turn I will become evil? Have I already become evil and I have yet to realize it? I doubt such things would exist that way it is far from right in the world. The world has many things wrong with it as many would say, however the one thing I do not believe is that we are destined to be tied with our race and the decisions they make as a whole.
