This poem is based on the bittersweet love between Zero and Yuuki. Not sure sure about Yuuki though, especially when she gave that harsh comment to Zero saying that she prefers Kaname's blood, which in human terms mean she prefers Kaname.The events in the poem are from the manga and not the anime. The events in the anime are different compared to the manga especially during the last episode of Vampire Knight Guilty. Zero asks Yuuki to prove that she's a vampire by drinking his blood and there's no kiss!. Though the ending of the anime, in my opinion, was sadder than the manga. I still prefer the manga though! heart
A Hunter's Love
Your smile brought beauty to kindness
Your innocence I've valued the most
Your fear of monsters like me
Shadowed by compassion unlike no other
Never meant to drink your blood
Such an urge I couldn't resist
Made you a victim to keep myself sane
Such a greed I'll always regret
You were given chances to take my life away
