I turn and look at the clock, it's 3am. Why do I always have to pee at 3am? I see the outline of her next to me. I thought Jenn was going to spend the night at her sister's. I reach over and touch her arm. She called me at midnight and said she was too tired to drive home. It was a 2 hour drive and I didn't want her driving home tired either. I told her, "I can wait to see you. I'll miss you, but you should be safe." But here she was driving home anyways laying next to me. I put my hand on her back and whispered, "When did you get in? You should have stayed." I layed back down. I was glad she was home. I thought I locked the bedroom door before I went to sleep. I started to fall back to sleep. The urge to pee came back. How did she get in the room? I put my hand on her back. I was getting confused. I leaned over, "How did you get in?" She was sound asleep. But the door was locked. I got up and checked the door. Still locked. I started to feel a little panic rising in me. I got back in bed and touched her back. Was someone else next to me? I pushed down on her back. My hand went to the mattress. What's going on? I wake up. I'm sitting up in bed with my hand on our comforter. It was all pushed to one side. I thought just like how Jenn roles up in it. I start laughing. The urge to pee comes back. I look at the clock and it's 3am. This feels so familiar. Why did I lock the bedroom door? It hits me. Wake up to pee. It's 3am....the doorbell rings. I don't want to answer it. Third ring, I answer it. It's the Highway Patrol. Do I know a Jennifer Sloan? Yes. I'm sorry to inform you...I wake up. I go pee. I walk back to bed. It's 3am.
