I found out today Rosa Parks died. This death was a very significant one to me, even though I'm only 19 and never met her nor grew up during her time. Still, she made me a big part of who I am. I became pro-feminist because of her, I learned to stand up for myself because of her. Rosa Parks was a blessing and an Angel to everyone, men and women both, in America. I feel she'll definitely be missed, but never forgotten. May her soul rest in peace with God and all his Angels. R.I.P. Rosa Parks, you're one of the best role models ever and will always remain in our hearts forever.
Here's my guest book entry for Rosa Parks and her family:
Guest Book for Rosa Parks: October 25, 2005 To the Parks Family: I first heard of Rosa Parks's heroic efforts to stand up for herself when I was in fourth grade. I'm now 19 years old and even today I still consider her one of the most influential women the United States has ever seen. She is the very reason I began to stand up for myself. I took her example and applied it to myself in real life. I was born and raised in Texas, so being a Southerner and hearing about this occurring in the South, especially during a time when prejudice was everywhere, gave me a sense of pride. Not just for the region I lived in, but also for those who decided to take a stand, to obtain liberty themselves by any and every means necessary. I became a pro-feminist because of her. She has truly inspired my life, even though I didn't grow up during the time of the '50s. I thank God for having created such a wonderful woman who was one of the best examples for all girls and women. May her soul rest eternally in peace, for I know that she is definitely in Heaven with God and all his angels. ~Natalie~ Natalie Robinson (St. Paul, MN ) nlr_mmv@yahoo.com
