Of Bonds and Secrets (chapter two)
Alex had been asleep for quite a while, his mind drifting through his sea of memories. None of them had been pleasant, most of his unforgettable ones were those of the prison, and one he would never forget, even in senility, was of a young woman named Chanda. He had been imprisoned on false pretenses, they had accused him of killing the human he was assigned to protect but no living being could have foreseen the outcome. A demon using the skin of a werewolf in its vicious form had burst into the room on his own assignment- to kill the human.
He had been locked up for- what was it- 6 years? He lost count long after they imprisoned him. He had been put in the sustaining chamber for about 2 years, only recently had he tried to escape and failed yet again. He was now being denied food and water, he felt like hell, looked like it too. The torture that had fallen upon him was only that of being sustained in a chamber that made him float, and the electrical binds that had been attached to his neck. Nothing could get in or out, lest they were released by the guard who had been assigned- which was highly unlikely. Alex did have a small glimpse of hope: that soon, his allies would bail him out. He pivoted his body as he got ready to pass the time by floating in the air when he heard footsteps coming from the hallway. He could hear the voices of a man and a young girl. “So, who is that in there?” the girl’s voice said, it sounded as if she did care for the half-lycan. He heard the man scoff, “He killed a human, and he is being punished for his crimes.”
“I did not kill that damn human!” Alex shouted as he banged his shoulder against the glass. This agitated the guard to no end, “Quiet you” the head guard barked as he hit a command sequence. It sent a wave of electricity into his body, causing Alex to convulse and cry out in agony. As the electricity subsided, Alex fell to his knees. The sight of seeing him in such pain sent a chill up the young girl’s spine. “He is one of our problems. He has attempted escaping about 13 times now, none have been successful- or even gotten past the first stage,” the head guard chuckled with a demented grin.
Soon, the noise of the head guard’s plated boots faded off into the silence, and all that was left: the girl who seemed his age, and seemed attractive in the dull glow of the cell. “Hey, what is your name?” the girl said as she put her hand on the glass. Alex fought the urge to be a total smart a** and replied as calm and polite as he could, “It’s Alex… Alexander Thorn. And to be honest, you look amazing.” The girl’s cheeks turned a deep scarlet as she backed away from the cell door, her breathing became slightly unbalanced. “My name is Chanda, I’ll tell you my last name later…” she muttered as she took a couple of steps towards the keypad. She had a lot of questions to ask him, without thinking she blurted out, “So, how long have you been here?” Alex reclined a bit as his shoulders rested on the back of the chamber, “I’ve been here for six years, I guess you know why. Thanks to those racist pricks in the LAPPD, I’m stuck in here for a while.” Chanda’s heart felt like it stopped beating, Six years?! He was only eleven when he got sent here?! she screamed inside of her mind. Chanda kept herself composed as she glanced down to the keypad sitting on the wall, “How could they be so heartless, it just doesn’t seem right that they would lock up a child for so long,” she pointed out. Alex heaved a long and tired sigh as he stood up, his brown splotched silver hair waving slowly. Chanda put her hand on the glass and sighed, “So… any possibility of getting out any time soon?” she asked quietly. Alex merely shook his head and yawned, kicking the glass and floating into the air. “Crap, now I’m stuck like this again. Ahh well, it passes the time,” he laughed as he hit his head on the top of the cage. He groaned in pain as he kept somersaulting, getting dizzier and sicker with each rotation. “Get ready,” Chanda warned him as she hit in the unlocking command. “Oh s**t,” he exclaimed as he slammed chest-first into the floor. Groaning, he sat up and saw the door still open wide as Chanda stood there and waited. “Come on, Alex. Get up and let’s go,” she ordered him as her hand extended to meet his. Alex took her hand carefully and hoisted himself up, giving her a swift kiss on her left cheek, “Thanks for everything, Chanda. I owe you.” Chanda turned bright red yet again as she put her hand over her cheek, watching Alex dart off into the hallway. He whirled around the corner and slammed into three guards making their usual rounds, “Oh, no freaking way!” Alex darted back around the corner and intercepted Chanda just as she was about to make an escape. “Chanda, I really think you should get out of here!”
“But- I”
“No buts! Get the hell out of here NOW!” he ordered her as he heard more guards pile down the hall. He flung his leg and kicked out the glass window, sending shards everywhere, even in his heel. Alex gave her a look that said, Jump out here! There is a bundle of hay down there that might cushion your fall. She nodded half-heartedly and did as she was told. She landed in the hay bale flat on her butt and jumped up, noticing the guards heading her way. “Ah, damn it!” she exclaimed, rocketing into a full sprint towards the still charging electrical fence. A few guards had Alex in a full body grapple, keeping his arms and legs restrained as he watched in horror as one of the guards readied his M-14 and aimed directly at Chanda while he darted towards her. Alex pivoted quickly and ripped a 9mm from one of the guard’s holsters, aiming directly at the few guards who were following her. He squeezed the trigger and hit one in the eye, one in the arm and Mr. M-14 square in the side of his head. Chanda glanced up and nodded, darting off through the gate. She turned back only momentarily, hoping Alex would be alright. After a bit of running towards the woods, she turned back around. For a moment she the he might be... No! she ordered herself, he’ll live. And she was gone again, disappearing into the blanket of the night.
The head guard stalked into the room, his metal plated boots clanking hard across the floor. “So… you killed another female guard. What was it this time- you charmed her into letting you out? Then I bet after you ran off and encountered the troops,” he blabbed on, “You told her to jump out the window. I bet she survived and was running away with a couple of other guards trying to make sure she would be fine and you shot them all.” Alex simply stared up at him and glared menacingly, “I didn’t kill those women. They killed themselves because they knew what you planned to do with them,” he smirked as the head guard stood there in horror, “Every female guard,” he continued on, “ that enlists is either in need of money or is trying to find an escape from a bit of the world they have no place in. I’ve heard all the things that go on in your office: The shouts, moans, gunshots, cuts- I’ve heard it all, HG. I even heard one conversation with one of the latest in your search for a quick lay. I believe you asked her to come back to your office and have a bit of ‘milk and sugar.’ I may have been here from most of my teen life but I know what that means. She refused and you hoisted her onto your shoulder- or something similar- and carried her off. I heard the frightened cries of the poor girl as you raped her. So, you see, HG, I know a damn lot more than these useless grunts.” The head guard stood there in shock and anger, his fists gripped tightly into a almost shapeless masses. He moved over to Alex and motioned for the other guards to disperse. After they did, he delivered a hard and fast right jab directly to his jaw, sending him spiraling to the ground. The guards left and the head guard grabbed Alex by his collar and pulled him up, “So, you know of my little romps and killings of those worthless bitches. You still have no idea what else goes on in the facility, but you’ll find out soon enough.” Alex felt the pressure rising in the room, he suddenly began to transform, he glanced out the window and saw it: The half moon. He broke free, revealed his claws and...

Alex jolted upright as he cried out in fear of the memory. “Dear god, why now of all times to remember something like THAT,” he questioned the air as he swung his legs off the couch and onto the hard floor. He walked over to the sword that was securely resting on a shelf and gripped the handle. Was it that dream again, master? A young British woman’s voice asked him in the back of his mind. He shook his head and strapped the sword in it’s sheath to his back, “Yes, no need to worry though.” He pushed his way out of the door and out into the world, off to meet Ignosha and Delphina.
