Just as I was about to write my journal I saw on the TV that Theo Epstein resigned from the Red Sox GM position. That probably means that Paul DePodesta will become the Boston GM after being fired from the position on the Dodgers. And...on to other business:
Al Lopez, HOF Manager of the Indians and White Sox (who won each of their teams last pennant before this year) and won the pennants during the run of the Yankees from 1949-1964, died Sunday at the age of 97. About a week after the Sox win the series, their most storied manager passes away, having been alert enough to know that his team won. He was a great man, and baseball will surely miss him.
Congrats to the Chisox. Winning the series is phenominal, sweeping is better and beating Clemens, Pettite and Oswalt in that order makes it even better. You guys deserve it more than anyone.
