Loving a Stranger
I stare blankly at your outstretched hands I don’t know you But I want to be where she firmly stands
Your shy smile I wish it was only for me Confidently, we would stand together For the whole world to see
Without hesitation I gently grasp your fingers Even just for today Can I be with the thought; that I’ve become officially your “you” instead of her?
With “Thank You” I walk away; already you’ve become a speck in distance Because of my pride, I couldn’t say anything I kept back with resistance
But I know That I’ll remember your eyes Because they seemed like they won’t hurt a soul in the world Let me fantasize just for today, that you are mine.
**an original poem**
