It’s midnight, and the air has gotten colder. The trees looked creepy because of its baldness and the ravens were landing on its every barren branch. The leaves that have fallen to the ground were getting into the decaying stage and the germs and bacteria were its cause. There were no flowers that will live things up, nor butterflies that will spread joy to the meadows. It was all like dead.
On the other hand, Sairene never felt that way. She was there, sleeping peacefully and her long, lavender hair was childishly scattered around her face. Suddenly, she felt a husky breath tickling her cheeks and, somewhat muscular and calloused hands that were tapping her shoulder. Her eyes slowly opened and it revealed the yellow green orbs, looking for who was disturbing her peaceful sleep. She turned around, chest facing out and looked intently at her disturber.
She gasped in horror.
She shot herself straight up; curling her knees towards her and her face was just dread looking. Her eyes were widened with fear and her hands trembling.
It was a vampire zombie.
“What have we here, my dear brothers? A fresh and hot body waiting for our advent.” The older looking vampire zombie said while licking his lips.
“Yeah. She looks delicious! I can’t wait to devour her.” The other said.
Sairene got petrified and she doesn’t know what to do. Her throat contained screams, yet it didn’t happen and her lips were just wide open in shock. Her mind was like blocked by a thousand words which were scrambled and unknown, and she cannot decide. What should she do?
Without her instincts, her body unconsciously moved out of the sofa and ran towards the inner parts of the palace, and supposedly, she has to run OUTSIDE the palace and away from those creepy thugs. On the contrary, those vampire zombies were blocking her way and she has no choice but to run inside. She kept on running and running, and the evil, hungry vampire zombies kept on chasing and chasing her. Knowing that she was way to far from them, she found a door, opened it and went inside the room and locked it. Then, she walked towards the bed, sat down and curled herself at the corner of the bed. She was really scared. And oh why in the world she did sleep on the couch? She felt so stupid.
Then, a loud thudding sound approached the room and all of a sudden, a deafening sound of door banging reached the ears of Sairene. They’re all here! What should I do? My powers are not strong enough to beat them…! She thought aloud as she kept on covering her ears and hoping strongly to have those vampire zombies tired of banging the door and just go away. But, it didn’t happen; instead, the banging went louder and sooner, the vampire zombies destroyed the door.
“Well, well, well, looks like your time is up, sweetie pie.” The older looking vampire zombie who has long and ugly horns on his forehead, face that was like burnt by fire and likewise his body, and has enormous skeleton wings. His voice was harsher than the other vampire zombies and his mouth revealed two deadly fangs.
Sairene kept herself silent as she backed herself further at the bed corner. The good thing was, the bed was placed at the most corner of the room, nearing the enormous glass window that has a mosaic art atop of it.
“Aww…the little cupcake was scared. HAHAHAHAHA!!!” The other vampire just behind the older one said and laughed evilly.
“Now, brothers, shall we take her?”
Feeling the danger, Sairene screamed as loud as she could, “NO! YOU CAN’T HAVE ME!!!” Then, her aura flowed out of her body and outlining her. Her eyes, from light brown color to dark blue color due to her aura. And she exclaimed, “Miaverna Exora!”
A red lightning bolt was drawn from her index finger towards the evil vampire zombies and somehow it shocked them off. With that chance, she fled out of the room with her remaining strength and thought of were she would hide next. As she reached the door, a vampire zombie grabbed her left ankle causing her to stumble down the floor. She looked back at them over her shoulder and she gasped in full horror.
“LET ME GO!!! Please I beg of you!!!” She screamed as she wriggled her ankle off the vampire zombie’s strong grasp.
The vampire zombie growled at her and said, “We will not pass this opportunity to eat live human!!! ARRRH!!!”
“NOOOOO!!!” As she screamed, a light covered her and deliberately erased the vampire zombies into existence. Then, she took that opportunity to run away.
Unknowingly present, the older vampire zombie was just too strong to be beaten by her light powers. And so, he sneaked out of the room, as quiet as possible, and waited for his chance to grab the food they’ve wanted for so long to eat.
Meanwhile, Sairene was still on the run and she doesn’t mind whatever she might bump unto, and since she was all lost into the freak palace. All she cared right now was to get away from the freaky palace and head straight home. Or probably, ran away and search for a new home alone. She went up three floors and went to the right corridor and at the end of it was a room. She went inside and securely closed it. When she turned around, she couldn’t see anything but darkness. It was pitch black. And it drained her strength, slowly and slowly. She gasped for air and her vision was turning to go blurry, and, she felt something ‘ouch’ way down on her ankle.
“Rats…that…vampire…has poison…on his…nails…” She muttered as she clenched her ankle with her left hand, only to find it bleeding furiously and smelled foul.
As she treated it with a handkerchief for first aid, she heard a loud and powerful bang at the door and it was broken, revealing the angry looking vampire zombie.
“Didn’t I kill you already? How…” She asked and stood up, walking with his aching ankle backwards.
“Heh. I’m not easy to kill, young lady. But, you have the knack of nerve to kill me. HAHAHAHA!” The vampire zombie laughed hard, mocking Sairene and advancing from his previous position, having the urge to get the lady.
Sairene couldn’t do anything now. Her powers were on downhill, her vision almost blurred, her ankle ached, and she was even gasping for air. She walked backwards, away from that ugly beast…until…
Her last footstep made her realize, that the room was half finished yet and there was a big loop hole at the far side of the room. With that last footstep, she fell off.
Minutes later, she woke up, feeling the awful pain her back suffered from the terrible fall. Her eyes were tired and her breathing was almost shallow. When she moved a bit, she felt something smooth and soft beneath her. She thought for a second and moved again, and hearing some strange groan beneath her almost limp body. She stood up and looked behind her over her shoulder. She gasped in horror and surprise.
She fell onto a sleeping vampire in a classy coffin.
She immediately got out of the coffin and heard the sleeping vampire groan in anger. Her eyes widened when she saw the vampire rose from his lying position to sitting position and stare at her with deep crimson eyes. The vampire’s fangs grew out of his mouth and it looked extremely sharp that it could kill her in seconds.
“I’m terribly sorry…s-sir…I-I-I…did-didn’t mean…to…to…di-disturb…you-r…slum-ber…” She said with her voice trembling. Her scared face was more awful than the pain she felt on her ankle.
“SORRY?! Is that all you could say?!” The vampire said aloud, getting out of the coffin and advancing towards her.
Sairene backed away, but as the vampire got closer and closer, a strike of nausea hit her suddenly. She continued to back away until her back hit the glossy wall. And when the vampire was only two feet away from her already, she felt extremely sick and darkness overwhelmed her.
