Games, games, games....
Lately I myself haven't really been playing an a** load of them- but I have been dedicating myself to the MMORPG Final Fantasy XI: Online. I've been playing a few jobs. Mostly here and there type of stuff.
FFXI is loads of fun... sometimes. A lot of it is a hassle to do- I have to run back and forth to different locations to finish missions and even the minor quests take a while to do. It can REALLY be a pain in the a** sometimes. xDD Certain things can take hours to do even when I've got really high-leveled help.
It doesn't help that I play THE most hated job in the entire game. The Dark Knight. People. Hate. Dark Knights. Hatehatehatehatehate. I can't begin to tell you how useless people feel the job is. xDD;
I, however, LOVE the Dark Knight. They can die really damn easily due to the fact that their defense is absolutely shittastic, but their attack power... oooooh, their ATTACK. It's B-E-A-UTIFUL. They hit hard and they can cast black magic spells that can seal up combos and drain MP and HP from their enemy and once they get high enough they can even steal their enemy's attack or dexterity points. They are slow asses but I play as a Mithra- basically cat-girls who are the speediest class in the game and have high accuracy. So, even though Dark Knights hit slow and miss often, my kitty-girl makes up for it with her natural set of skills. Plus having items to pump my stats up helps.
Still, though, it's just been grating on me how much people DESPISE Dark Knights. They can die so easily- their defense is almost equal to that of a White Mage. So, needless to say, it's absolutely pitiful. But the job is STILL solo-able and it is NOT totally useless!
People constantly complain that Dark Knights die too quickly and the fact that they're not solo-able. WELL GUESS THE FREAK WHAT? I just solo'd my Dark Knight like three levels and then did it AGAIN later and you know what? I HAVEN'T DIED in OVER A MONTH. What the hell do you think of that, jackasses? =__= ;;;
If the person playing as the Dark Knight knows what they're doing, the Dark Knight can be a powerful weapon. The main problem with Dark Knights is that they do TOO MUCH damage which then makes the monster want to attack them. Major hate. What do I do to solve this problem? I use my magic throughout the battle and then when the monster is weakening I boost up my attack power by knocking down my defense and HP and then I use a special combo and IF I can I close it with an elemental spell. That way I can end the battle even faster without worrying about the monster taking all of the damage and giving me an incredible amount of hate. And, even if the monster DOES survive the attack, I've damaged it so badly that it's going to die soon anyway and I can replenish my HP by casting Drain and sucking it strait out of the monster- dealing even more damage and healing myself.
I don't know what the other people are doing, but they must be idiots because I can play the Dark Knight as a pure damage dealer, solo it, AND NOT DIE.
I just had to rant in here because how much people despise the Dark Knight pisses me strait off. If they can't play the Dark Knight without dieing it's because they're too stupid to figure out how to use it, not because the job is useless.
